Lead Platform Engineer, Workday (Workday Security)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Security Implementation:
    Assist in the design, implementation, and management of security controls for the Workday environment. Ensure security configurations and integrations are robust and effective.

  • Risk Assessment:
    Conduct regular security assessments and SOX audits to identify vulnerabilities and risks within the Workday environment. Collaborate with the risk management team to develop and implement mitigation strategies.

  • Access Management:
    Implement and manage role-based access controls (RBAC) to ensure appropriate access levels for users. Regularly review and update access permissions to maintain compliance and security.

  • Incident Response
    : Assist in the investigation and response to security incidents related to the Workday environment. Participate in root cause analysis and remediation efforts.

  • Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance with internal security policies and industry best practices. Contribute to the development and maintenance of security policies, procedures, and guidelines.

  • Collaboration:
    Work closely with IT, HR, and other business units to understand security requirements and integrate security measures into business processes. Provide technical support and guidance to stakeholders.

  • Continuous Improvement:
    Stay informed about the latest security trends, technologies, and best practices. Proactively suggest improvements to enhance the security posture of the Workday environment.

  • SOX Compliance:
    Support SOX audit activities by ensuring Workday security controls are in place and functioning as intended. Prepare documentation and evidence to demonstrate compliance with SOX requirements.


Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification

  • At Least 6 years of experience in Information Security

  • At least 5 years of experience in Workday Security

  • At least 2 years of experience in a technical leadership role overseeing strategic projects

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 7+ years of experience in Workday security administration

  • 2+ years of experience configuring SSO with Workday using SAML 2.0 and integrating with enterprise IdPs.

  • Workday Pro Certification in Security

  • 1+ years of experience with Workday Extend, Workday Prism, or Workday Financials security models

  • 1+ years of experience with AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure or another cloud service

  • 2+ years of experience in Agile practices

Cambridge, MA: $158,400 - $180,800 for Lead Platform Engineer Chicago, IL: $144,000 - $164,400 for Lead Platform Engineer McLean, VA: $158,400 - $180,800 for Lead Platform Engineer New York, NY: $172,800 - $197,200 for Lead Platform Engineer Plano, TX: $144,000 - $164,400 for Lead Platform Engineer Richmond, VA: $144,000 - $164,400 for Lead Platform Engineer San Francisco, CA: $172,800 - $197,200 for Lead Platform Engineer San Jose, CA: $172,800 - $197,200 for Lead Platform EngineerThis role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
