Support operational customs functions for TradeCo Markets, ensuring full compliance with relevant customs legislation while streamlining processes and procedures to ensure maximum efficiency. Support the operation of customs processes globally, particularly where outsourced, identifying and implementing best practice. Managing or supporting Global Customs involvement in SCM projects as necessary.

Key Accountabilities

  • Liaise with Markets on controls and procedures required for an effective Customs operation.
  • Manage global customs compliance program within adidas, to review, develop, implement, and communicate customs compliance procedures.
  • Maintain the broker selection policy and Customs procedures guidance manual with markets.
  • Support Markets to manage AEO / Trusted Trade application and ensure authorizations are maintained.
  • Support risk assessment and global provisions and accruals relating to customs risks.
  • Analyze new customs regulations worldwide regarding the impact for adidas, inform all relevant parties about complex legal contents and regarding the impact on their business.
  • Facilitation of quarterly meetings with Market Customs Managers.
  • Liaise and educate other adidas teams on customs compliance considerations to include Global Taxes, Global Finance, Global Legal and Supply Chain Management.
  • Support the identification and resolution of any delays in goods availability caused by Customs while managing communication within the business.
  • Support Global and Regional Customs initiatives and operational projects, as defined by the Senior Director Global Customs Operations.

Knowledge, Capabilities and Skills

  • In depth knowledge of Customs legislation
  • Experience of conducting operational reviews
  • Experience of managing and developing staff
  • Strong research and writing, communication, and analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all levels in a cross-cultural environment
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access)

Qualifications

  • Educated to University level or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of working experience in supply chain management / customs business.
  • Fluency in English, Written and Spoken.
