What you'll be doing
- Designing and prototyping algorithms for advanced audio coding, including pre-processing and post-processing techniques to improve audio quality.
- Participate in the productization process of the prototyped algorithms.
- Contribute to patent IP.
- Contribute with high-quality publications.
10+ years of experience in research, development, evaluation and productization of speech and audio coding, including methods for:
- signal preprocessing techniques for optimal bandwidth utilization,
- packet loss concealment,
- post-processing methods for improving quality of low-bitrate audio,
- pitch estimation,
- voice activity detection,
- signal classification,
- time-scale modification techniques for audio synchronization and network jitter compensation.
- Good understanding of modern lossy speech and audio coding standards, including AAC and Opus.
- Strong background in machine learning and deep neural networks.
- Strong background in signal processing, speech modeling, adaptive filtering and related fields.
- Rapid algorithm prototyping experience in MATLAB, Python or C++.
- Inquisitive, proactive and systematic working habits.
- Demonstrated ability to innovate and make architectural trade-offs for balancing performance/cost.
Bonus qualifications
- Prior experience in developing deep learned models for one or more of the above problems.

- Graduate degree in a relevant field. Ph.D. is a plus.
