Design, implement, and maintain protective relay systems and associated equipment for power systems.
Prepare and execute (FAT) Factory Acceptance Test procedures & testing environments for customer projects.
Prepare and execute (SAT) Site Acceptance Test procedures and commissioning scripts for customer projects.
Prepare Test Set (Omicron, Doble, etc...) routines for various protection applications.
Configure and test relays for protection and controls schemes of substations systems.
Collaborate with a team of professionals to develop protection schemes that meet industry standards and customer requirements.
Be a technical leader in projects or lead other team members in project activities
Be one of our primary customer interfaces, including trouble shooting and commissioning support.
Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, including design, implementation, and commissioning phases.

Basic Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in electrical/electronic/computer science engineering.
6+ years of engineering experience preferably in power systems protection engineering field.
Project Technical Lead experience.
Ability to read and fully understand DC and AC schematics, three- and one-line diagrams for Medium and/or High Voltage substations systems.
Advanced knowledge of Siemens, GE, SEL, ABB, and others relay/automation products and associated software.
Applied knowledge of Medium Voltage Protection
Overcurrent / Over-Undervoltage
Transformer Differential
Motor Protection
High and Low Impedance Busbar Differential
Generator Protection
MV transfer schemes and reverse interlocking schemes.
Communication protocols such as IEC61850 (MMS/GOOSE/SMV), DNP, Modbus, IEC103, IEC101, IEC104, Profinet, Profibus.
Control and Protection commissioning experience.
Factory and Site testing experience in automation and control systems
Around 75% of travel is expected depending on project assignments and requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
Applied knowledge of Medium and High Voltage Protection
Line Differential and Distance Protection
Generator Protection
Communication Network Technologies, including Design, Configuration, and troubleshooting of ethernet switches for protection applications such as IEC-61850 Process Bus and GOOSE applications.
Advanced Programming skills and experience with programming languages used in protection systems.

The pay range for this position is $81,130 – $139,080. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
