The baseline individual for this role will be comfortable with the Linux Kernel and understand how to develop in languages such as C, Assembly and Python in a Linux environment. Experience with Linux package management, version control systems, automated build processes, and automated testing are a must. Specific in depth knowledge of the use, design, and development of Linux operating system internals is required for this role.Key job responsibilities
- Review code from peers and provide feedback
- Mentor and develop junior engineers and perform interviews

- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Previous contribution to the Linux kernel, in the form of code, fixes, and upstream reviews.

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Handling security issues in the Linux kernel
