AWS is looking for a HPC Specialist Architect for the Energy & Utilities Business Unit, who will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for helping customers in designing solutions that leverage our HPC services. As part of the Energy & Utilities Industry Specialist Solutions Architecture team, you will work closely with customers in various geographies to enable large-scale customer use cases and drive the adoption of AWS for HPC. You will interact with other Solution Architects in the field, providing guidance on their customer engagements, and you will develop white papers, blogs, reference implementations, and presentations to enable customers and partners to fully leverage HPC services on AWS. You will also create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, to help them understand how to integrate AWS solutions into customer architectures. You drive effective feedback gathering from customers, and you distill and translate that feedback into clear business and technical requirements for product and engineering teams to review. You sponsor the creation of new products and features from these requirements, working closely with product and engineering teams to minimize requirements drift from your customer’s needs.Key job responsibilities
- Customer Advisor- You will interact closely with our customers Implement and deploy state of the art HPC solutions. You will build prototypes, PoCs, and explore new solutions.
- Thought Leadership – Evangelize AWS HPC services and share best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, white-papers, reference architectures and public-speaking events such as AWS Summit, AWS re:Invent, etc.
- Developer experience with HPC frameworks for workloads in a domain such as oil and gas, automotive / aerospace, financial services or pharmaceuticals.
- Proven ability to understand HPC user requirements and map these to solutions.
- Experience in architecting an HPC platform with scheduling middleware (e.g. Slurm, Torque, Symphony or GridServer).
- Experience in deployment, tuning and management of HPC technologies in a multi-user environment.
- High level understanding of the underlying infrastructure platform and resources to run HPC services.
- AWS technical proficiency is not required, but the candidate needs to be able to reach AWS technical competency within 6 months.
- Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or experience in a professional field or military.
- Proficient in one or more of the following programming languages: C++, Python, Cuda, Bash
- Experience of hardware acceleration technologies such as FPGA, GPU
- Ability to deploy, configure and manage compute clusters (either Windows or Linux)
- Experience working with end user or developer communities
- AWS technical proficiency - have architected and implemented HPC solutions on AWS.
- Understanding of various tightly coupled or highly parallel workloads
- Significant experience in infrastructure architecture and networking.
- Experience with infrastructure as code technology such as Cloud Formation, CDK or equivalent.
- Master's degree or higher in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or experience in a professional field or military.
