Overview of role

As a senior associate within the PE portfolio tax at EY, you will work on a range of private equity backed clients, being responsible for the preparation of tax advice to our clients. You will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of tax projects, have direct interaction with clients, and develop your tax technical knowledge and understanding of private equity.

Examples of tax projects you could be involved in include:

  • Tax advisory, including:
    • Post-acquisition support
    • Cash tax modelling
    • Group simplification and reorganisation
    • Exit readiness
  • Transactions:
    • Tax due diligence and structuring advice for bolt-ons
    • Refinancings
    • Carve-outs and disposals
    • Vendor assistance
  • Tax compliance, reporting and governance

Key responsibilities

  • Assisting with the preparation and timely delivery of high quality tax services.
  • Considering the use of AI and incorporating into the provision of our tax services.
  • Being an active part of the portfolio companies tax team, contributing to the growth and development of the team.
  • Building networks and personal relationships both internally and externally.
  • Being involved in the origination of tax opportunities on new and existing clients.

  • Excellent communicator in a range of situations, both written and oral.

  • Ability to solve problems creatively and pragmatically, recognising both the tax technical and commercial implications of the advice given.

To qualify for the role you must have

  • ACA / CA / CTA
  • Strong UK tax technical skills
  • Experience of coaching and developing more junior staff.
