Senior Finance Analyst

As a Senior Finance Analyst, you will collaborate with business, reporting, and other teams to understand business requirements and perform data analysis. Get involved and Lead in project transitions from different teams, do enhancements and modification post transition when needed. Study transactions to conclude root causes, variances and suggest corrections to management. Design and create complex reports to user specifications. The position will ideally have to handle more complex issues and special projects than a junior financial analyst.
Your key responsibilities
- Generate standard reports on a periodic basis and identify and solve issues that affect reporting
- Knowledge of global reporting and consolidation (Area, Region, Service ling reporting)
- Handle complex ad hoc reports from Stakeholders on a timely manner
- Proactively take part in the financial planning process
- Ensure proper review mechanism is in place for the respective teams
- Develop new reports/dashboards as well as enhance existing reports by working on automating the report preparation as much as possible
- Mentor, guide, train junior analysts and new recruits
Power BI and SQL Knowledge
- Ability to analyse large sets of data and determine patterns and rules for organizing and Prepare Visualization dashboards using Power BI
- Ability to handle multiple projects and coordinate between teams from different service lines
- Analyse and create complex SQL queries as needed to support data extracts needed for further processing in Data Analytics
- Coordinate development of ETL/data warehouse best practices needed to support new and evolving sources of data used in reporting, transaction processing and Analytics
- Perform extensive and detailed data analysis necessary to ensure strict adherence to data quality
- Take on end-to-end ownership and perform different roles within analysis and development phases
- Set and manage expectations with stakeholders while providing proactive communication and status updates; prioritize deliverables with Stakeholders/requestor, and follow/implement change control and release management processes
- Adhere to general work requirements and perform other duties as assigned
Skills and attributes for success
- Possess statistical or data driven and problem solving skills
- Have sound understanding of basic accounting concepts
- Possess good communication skill
- Be strong in MS Excel skill
- Understand financial reporting goals and basic process flow
- Ability to understand numbers and arrive at inferences
- Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to teach the juniors
To qualify for the role, you must have
- More than 5 years of experience advanced knowledge as a data analyst and/or SQL Server
- More than 3 years of working knowledge in Power BI Visualization tool.
- Working knowledge in MS Excel Macros will be added advantage
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a related field
