YOUR FUTURE ROLE
In your Executive Communications role, you will take on ownership and accountability for the following responsibilities and tasks, including (but not limited to):
- Acting as a strategic advisor to the CHRO, providing communications counsel on sensitive, high-impact topics (e.g. organizational change, culture transformation, etc.).
- Crafting and evolving a distinctive, people-centric executive voice for the CHRO across speeches, panels, blogs, podcasts, and social media.
- Identifying key global trends (e.g. Business transformation, skills transformation, AI & HR, etc.) and building POVs that position the CHRO as a future-of-work thought leader.
- Developing and maintaining a communications strategy and calendar that aligns with both SAP and industry agendas.
- Collaborating cross-functionally to ensure message consistency and business alignment.
- Anticipating reputational risks and crafting proactive messaging frameworks that build trust and authenticity.
- Planning and managing executive communications activities (together with internal and external stakeholder groups).
- Leveraging internal communications to bring employee voice and culture narratives into the CHRO’s communications.
- Coordinating with Global Public Relations (GPR) and social teams to amplify content and grow executive digital presence, especially on platforms like LinkedIn, X, WEF, SAP Community.
- Writing inspirational key notes, speeches and creating storylines for various internal and external communication activities.
- Evaluating communications opportunities and their fit for the executive.
- Acting as a quality gate by screening, proof-reading, editing communications collateral as well as involving respective topic owners before it is submitted to the executive.
- Creating communication materials for the executive’s target audiences.
- Preparing briefing documents for the CHRO on various communications activities.
- Writing announcements signed by board members or executives.
- Ensuring consistent messaging among Board members and executives within People & Culture and beyond.
- Supporting all other ad-hoc communications as needed by the team.
Skills and Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in executive communications, internal communications, thought leadership, public relations, or a related field.
- Proven experience working with executives and developing communication strategies at the board level.
- Deep understanding of global HR, workplace trends, and people-first business transformation would be a plus.
- Exceptional storytelling, speechwriting, and editing skills with a strategic mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German is a must.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Experience working with the media and creating media content.
- Deep understanding of digital communication channels and social media.
- Crisis communication experience is a plus.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment, strong ability to adapt fast.
- Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office Tools.
- Hands-on mentality and ability to process complex issues in a simplified manner from conception to delivery.
- Master’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
