Key job responsibilities

You will lead technical complex initiatives with worldwide impact, deal with ambiguity, and advocate for chosen solutions in a global cross-functional organization.The POD Technical Specialist is responsible for the creation and use of the technical standards for POD technology. The ideal candidate is the expert for the region for any issues that cannot be solved by the local operations or maintenance teams. Primary responsibilities are: Develop the global technical specifications of POD equipment
Lead global standardization by ensuring all installed equipment is compliant with the required specifications
Provide technical expertise to support Global POD Engineering, WW Design Engineering, and Engineering Services in integrating POD equipment for any new POD facilities
Provide technical expertise on POD equipment to the NA network for:o Site launches and ramp-up when new technology is deployed
o RME training needs when new technology is deployed
Define and qualify improvements required for POD equipment, in direct liaison with the POD vendors, by gathering the needs identified in the global network Participate in and sometimes lead required certifications (safety, environmental, etc.) for new equipment, including regulatory certification as well as additional Amazon requirements
A day in the life
The role requires the ability to deal with ambiguity due to the nature of the Print-On-Demand business:
- The POD technology is unique within the Amazon organization. The POD Technical Specialist must be able to work autonomously and work cross-functionally and coordinate multiple independent stakeholders to successfully fulfill responsibilities.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering field or equivalent experience
- 3+ years' experience in a technical role related to manufacturing, ideally in a fast-paced industrial, logistics, production, or manufacturing environment
- Ability to travel <50% in all regions of the NA network
- Demonstrated ability to work with a cross-functional team across design, engineering, and operations to deliver complex solutions
- Fluent in English (verbal and written communication skills)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in Engineering or Operations
- Experience managing multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
- Experience working in book-printing or Manufacturing-On-Demand industry
- Proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders, both internally and externally
- Proven ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- 5+ years in a similar field or related occupation of Design/Innovation, Research & Development, Manufacturing/Process/Industrial Engineering
