Lead Software Design Engineer - Innovative Navigation and Sensors
You will be responsible for the design, development and integrating highly complex software functions and contributing to developing the software related to the innovative projects in the Honeywell’s SGN (Sensing, Guidance, and Navigation) segment. You will be involved with the complete SW development life cycle including initial requirements, coding, integration, testing and certification. This a chance to work on one of the most successful products for Honeywell in the segment, and to further grow your expertise while dealing with existing and new innovative projects. Being one of the first technical leaders in the new site is an exciting opportunity to develop new partnerships on the local market and witness the growth of the team developing relevant products. You will enjoy the cooperation and strong support from the other relevant Honeywell sites in the region, making sure you have all you need to succeed in the role. This is a hybrid role, 3 days in office, 2 from home.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in project planning phase, provide estimates and report status
Perform embedded / application software (e.g. C, C++, C#, Matlab):
Requirements and architecture modification / creation
Code modification / creation (includes debugging and troubleshooting)
Test cases, procedures, and scripts modification / creation
Tests execution (both informal and formal runs)
Documentation creation
Certification support
Development / test environment setup
Ensure assigned technical tasks are completed on-time and within given requirements
Actively identify new technological opportunities that will help achieve incremental or step change improvements
Required Qualifications
Master’s degree in software engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science
Previous professional experience with software development 10+ years
Experience with embedded / application software development (e.g. C, C++, C#, Matlab) and design / test automation
Knowledge of software development processes and best practices
Knowledge of linux and development under linux (app, drivers)
Experienced in communication via ethernet, serial
Knowledge of software design tools (e.g. Enterprise Architect)
Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g. Perl, Python)
Knowledge of software configuration management tools (e.g. ClearCase, SVN, Git)
Knowledge of requirements management tools (e.g. DOORS)
Knowledge of change management tools (e.g. ClearQuest)
Knowledge of test management tools (e.g. TestLink)
Excellent command of English language
Expertise in A661 and SCADE
Ideally some knowledge/experience with land inertial navigations and/or Alternative navigations, inertial measurement units
Advanced knowledge of navigation algorithms (eg. Kalman Filtering, Gyro compassing, ZUPT, etc.) and principles

Knowledge of commercial airborne standards including RTCA DO-178B is a plus
GNSS knowledge
