Senior Physics and System Manager

You are responsible for

• Drive all elements of the Physics and System Engineering function (composed of Image chain Physics, Algorithm and System) to achieve best in class proficiency
• Develop and execute a strategic plan to obtain breakthrough level improvement in efficiency and effectiveness of Physics and System Team
• Actively promote the use of structured methodologies (i.e. Agile, Six Sigma, Design for Reliability) to realize the image quality engineering deliverables
• Support development of common, global way of working. Ensure the team has an articulated way of working (i.e. key process steps to complete unit project deliverables with expected quality), with verification points and process and product quality and completion metrics to provide in-process insight and early warning.
• Collaboratively execute Physics and System development plans, with strong alignment with peer functions (e.g. CIRS SW, Systems, Gantry, DMS and other subsystems), Product-level Core Teams, and other subsystems
• Personnel leadership including skills planning and recruitment, elicitation of employee career aspirations, identification of high potentials, assessment of leadership teamcapability/potential,assessment and management of team morale, coaching and joint development of career development plans.
• Ensure project deliverables from image quality Engineering are executed within schedule, cost and quality expectations. Drive to institute project risk management as a key routine activity within the Physics and System Engineering team
• Ensure compliance of resource allocation (People, Material, NRE (Non-Recurring Engineering (costs)), Travel etc.) for each project as per Annual Operating Plan (AOP) commitments- Develop the cross-functional plan/strategy and drives its execution
• Pro-actively monitor project progress, anticipating the effect of dependencies on schedule
• Make daily execution decisions and drives execution mechanisms
• Identify Critical dependencies, risks and contingency planning
• Identify problems with ongoing activities through the core team and facilitates the problem solving process
• Responsible for project reviews and team communications
• Develop the entrance (Integration Readiness) and exit criteria with the cross-functional team
• Additional duties as assigned

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

• Master’s degree in computer science/EE/Biomedical Engineering
• 10 or more years of hands-on image quality engineering experience in a product development environment
• 3-4 years of leading a functional team with qualified image quality engineers
• Object oriented programming development experience, matlab, C++ or C# programming experience on Windows, or Embedded OS (preferably embedded Linux)
• Familiar with CT image chain components, CT Recon and post processing algorithms.
• Ability to work within a cross functional organization with good communication skills.

• Must be open-minded to assure best design is chosen
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills while communicating in both English and Chinese
• Working experience in global organization is preferred.
