Description
•Work closely with cross functional teams and support the entire development cycle of Apple cameras, from early prototype to product launch.•Lead image quality validation at component and system levels.•Comprehensively characterize and quantitatively assess camera performance and image quality.•Provide feedback and contribute to refinement and improvement of camera design and process.•Develop image processing algorithm for image quality metrics.•Incubate new metrology for next-generation Apple products and support technology transfer from lab to production sites.•Deliver executive level presentations of results.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS and relevant industry experience.
  • Basic understanding of image quality metrics and evaluation methodology.
  • Hands on Matlab or Python programming skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MS and beyond in EE, Optics, Color Science or equivalent.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong programming skills on digital image processing, data analysis & visualization.
  • Familiarity with mobile camera components and functions and basic understanding of camera ISP pipeline and 3A.
  • Hand-on experience on prototyping algorithm for quantitative characterization of image quality.
  • Experience with automation of data acquisition.
  • Knowledge of megapixel CMOS image sensor technology, lens selection and qualification.
  • Experience with objective camera bench testing and subjective image quality analysis.
Pay & Benefits
  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
