As the Sr. Director of Executive Talent and Learning, you will report directly to the VP of Talent and Belonging and play a critical role on the Talent + Belonging Leadership Team. The Head of Executive Talent and Learning is responsible for leading and managing the organization’s strategies related to executive onboarding, development, selection, and succession planning. This role aims to cultivate a high-performing executive team and ensure a robust pipeline of leadership talent that aligns with the organization's strategic goals. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of executive talent management and a commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning and leadership excellence.

Responsibilities:

  • Executive Onboarding:
    • Design and implement a comprehensive onboarding program tailored specifically for new executives, ensuring they are integrated smoothly into the organization and its culture.
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders to provide new executives with the resources, introductions, and information they need to succeed in their roles.
    • Continuously assess and enhance onboarding processes based on feedback and best practices.
  • Executive Development:
    • Develop and oversee leadership development programs aimed at enhancing the capabilities and effectiveness of the executive team.
    • Identify specific development needs for executives and create personalized growth plans that include coaching, mentoring, and training opportunities.
    • Foster a culture of continuous learning by promoting participation in industry conferences, workshops, and networking events.
  • Executive Selection:
    • Partner with the executive recruitment team collaborating with senior leadership and external partners to identify and attract top executive talent.
    • Develop and implement selection criteria and assessment tools that align with the organization’s strategic objectives and culture.
    • Ensure a fair, equitable, and transparent selection process that emphasizes diversity and inclusion.
  • Succession Planning:
    • Establish and manage a robust succession planning framework for key executive roles across the organization.
    • Identify and assess high-potential leaders within the organization, creating tailored development plans to prepare them for future leadership opportunities.
    • Regularly review and update succession plans in collaboration with senior leadership to ensure readiness for future leadership transitions.
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Collaborate with the executive team and board of directors to align talent and learning strategies with business objectives.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor on executive talent management, providing insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Utilize data and analytics to assess the effectiveness of executive talent and learning initiatives, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
    • Provide regular reports to senior leadership on key metrics related to executive onboarding, development, selection, and succession.
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion:
    • Advocate for diversity and inclusion in all executive talent management processes, ensuring equitable access to opportunities for underrepresented groups.
    • Promote initiatives that support a diverse leadership pipeline and foster an inclusive organizational culture.

About You:

  • You are a strategic and data-driven leader with a passion for executive talent management. You excel at building high-performing teams and achieving measurable outcomes.
  • Skilled at driving business outcomes through targeted learning interventions; comfortable influencing leaders on the appropriate use of learning to drive business outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of applicable experience in executive talent management, leadership development, or organizational development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing successful executive onboarding and development programs.
  • Strong understanding of executive selection and assessment methodologies, as well as succession planning best practices.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with senior leaders.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to leverage data to drive decisions and improve talent strategies.
  • A commitment to fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within leadership ranks.
  • Exceptional team management and coaching abilities.
  • Ability to work regularly on-site at a PayPal office.
