Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
  • Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
  • Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
  • Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
  • Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems to interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
  • Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
  • Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required Qualifications

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience
  • Experience across the data framework and lifecycle
  • Advanced in SQL, PowerShell, Tableau and API functionality
  • Significant experience with statistical data analysis and able to determine appropriate tools and data patterns to perform analysis
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design, data mining and segmentation techniques
  • Experience gathering and analyzing data to effect meaningful change in areas that need improvement
  • Ability to work with huge sets of data from varied systems and stitch it together to derive meaningful information
  • Effectively collaborate with stakeholders on new reporting requirements, and with technology teams on changes to incorporate in reports and providing analytics on the report with trends, root cause and business context
  • Ability to communicate and drive the strategic direction of the firm, delivering technology solutions that meet internal and external needs
  • Excellent attention to detail, and an ability to know when a deep-dive approach is appropriate, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and adept at communicating with all levels of the business and technical organization
  • Proactively identify gaps in process, and offer ideas for improvement in areas that require remediation or enhancement

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • SNOW development knowledge or experience preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
  • Worked with building Data platforms, Data frameworks and Design of Data as a Service AP
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to apply them very quickly
