Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize real estate sector expertise in developing presentations, term sheets and financial models to analyze clients’ financial situations, financing, and M&A opportunities
- Manage deal execution and project management throughout the lifecycle of a transaction
- Construct detailed M&A and joint venture models and provide any necessary financial and statistical analysis
- Conduct deep industry and company-specific due diligence
- Oversee and/or assist in the preparation of business valuations
- Provide timely support to cross-functional teams such as Leveraged Finance, Debt Capital Markets, Equity Capital Markets, and Corporate Risk Solutions
- Create presentation materials and actively participate in client discussions
- Work independently to deliver presentations and client follow-up requests on a timely basis
- Guide junior bankers in the preparation of pitchbooks and live deal materials, including offering memoranda, management presentations, ad-hoc analysis, due diligence, and the building of financial models
- Build relationships and maintain direct contact with clients
- Interact with senior TD Securities team members and client management teams on a daily basis to successfully execute transactions and discuss strategic alternatives
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a strong background in investment banking underpinned by solid quantitative and analytical skills. He or she should be able to think creatively about a range of strategic issues confronting the firm’s clients and have an exceptional grasp on accounting, valuation, finance, and business strategy. Specific qualifications include:
- 5+ years of investment banking experience; Real Estate industry experience is strongly preferred
- Excellent analytical and modeling skills with a vast knowledge of finance and accounting principles
- Expertise in all phases of project management and deal execution with an established track record
- Ability to comfortably interact with clients in a professional setting
- Assist with idea generation and deal sourcing, when appropriate
- Able to provide direction and leadership to build a strong team environment
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree from a leading university
- Series 79 and 63 preferred
