How you’ll spend your day

Key Responsibilities
• Responsible for management of cross-border shipments and final mile transportation when required.
• Lead and participate in various logistics related projects.
• Work directly with transportation carriers, logistic providers, and internal personnel regarding the management of Domestic shipments.
• Manage, track and communicate temperature control data as necessary.
• Lead Quality related activities and actions and make entries into QMS (Trackwise) related systems.
• Investigate carrier delays, issues, non-compliance matters and communicate findings.
• Work with Import – Export Teams to ensure the timely and compliant delivery of shipments.
• Utilize internal (WM, SAP) and external systems to manage shipments.
• Monitor and report carrier performance and compliance. Using documentation and tracking tools to generate monthly performance metrics; as well as identifying process improvements when applicable.
• Work with Accounting and Customer Service Departments to investigate shipment incidents resulting in customer complaints and claims.
• Work with Freight Payment vendor to ensure timely and accurate payments to Logistics Providers.
• Work closely with 3rd party vendors, Purchasing Department, manufacturing facilities (internal and external) and Planning/Buying Departments, to optimize mode of transport for all shipments from a cost and service perspective.

Your experience and qualifications

Qualifications
• Strong understanding of inbound scheduling, shipping and receiving requirements, system applications, and inbound suppliers.
• Over 3 years of experience in motor carrier, parcel, ocean and air transportation, particularly regarding inbound freight management.
• Familiarity with freight bill payment, and processes for handling over, short, and damage carrier claims.
• Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
• Ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
• Project management experience is preferred.
• Fluency in spoken and written English is required.

Education:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations or equivalent work experience.

COMPUTER SKILLS
SAP Microsoft Outlook, Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Excel, PowerPoint and Word) experience required, and knowledge of, Manhattan WM, CargoClix and Trackwise desired.
