The Data Management & Strategy Lead is responsible for leading activities to support implementation of the Data Governance Policy/Data Risk and Control framework, and plays a critical role in leading activities that contribute to the definition of the Enterprise Data Governance Strategy, and/or Data Risk and Control Framework and Data Risk Taxonomy. This role requires strong programme/project management skills as well as excellent communication skills needed to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide and influence others, in particular, colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Accountable for significant direct business results or authoritative advice regarding the operations of the business.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of the Data Operating Model (DOM).
- Manage senior relationships with Data stakeholders to develop, execute, and implement Data governance policies, procedures andcapabilities includingcontinuous improvement, monitoring, control, and governance of Data Quality.
- Lead business analysis through collection, analysis, review, documentation and communication of business needs and requirements, to understand requirements and aligning these to Data Governance and/or Data Risk and Controls standards to drive appropriate solutions.
- Lead project management activities and create presentation materials to support senior management strategic vision.
- Drive data quality resolution and lead data improvement initiatives.
- Liaise with other areas of the firm to understand data challenges and solutions.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable rules, laws, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgement regarding personalbehaviour, conductand business practices, and escalating managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications:
- Strong relevant experience, Banking or Finance industry preferred.
- Strong knowledge of data governance/management, data operating model practices.
- Experience defining and implementing data governance/management programs
- Communicates effectively, develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences; able to drive consensus, and influence relationships at all levels
- Collaborates effectively by building partnerships and working well with others to meet shared objectives
- Strong negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills across a variety of stakeholders at different levels
- Optimizes work processes by balancing effective / efficient processes with a focus on continuous improvement. Demonstrates ability to balance between seeing the “big picture” while paying close attention to detail
- Organizational savvy: understands systems, management processes, knows where to go for information and how to interpret them.
- Consulting experience is beneficial, but not essential.
- Bachelor's/Universitydegree, Master's degree preferred
