About the role:

Assist R&D engineers, scientists, and/or teams in developing and analyzing products, materials, processes, or equipment. This level of position requires an extensive knowledge base, high independence, a demonstrated ability to follow detailed instructions, and a deep aptitude for learning.

As an R&D Technician IV at Boston Scientific, you’ll be hands-on in shaping the next generation of catheter-based medical devices. In this senior role, you’ll work closely with engineers and cross-functional teams to build prototypes, run tests, and solve technical challenges that directly impact patient care. You’ll have the independence to drive your own work while contributing to a culture of innovation and collaboration.

Your responsibilities will include:

Execute assigned tasks for project deliverables.

Develop solutions and contribute to initial design, testing, and process concepts.

Construct prototype products and/or detailed test methods and fixtures from concepts.

Organize, coordinate, execute, and document testing of prototypes/materials with minimal engineering guidance.

Develop new test methods and/or make revisions to existing test methods.

Coordinate procuring and qualification of new or modified test equipment.

Work with internal resources and external vendors to identify and obtain supplies and services.

Contribute to problem-solving and root cause investigations (DOE, FMEA, CAPA)

Train/Coach peers on their job's technical aspects, including interpreting and rationalizing results (i.e., statistics, DOE).

Required qualifications:

• 3 years of experience with a High School diploma, or an equivalent combination of education/work experience

Preferred qualifications:

• 5 years of similar experience
• Experience with complex catheter design, assembly, prototyping, and testing
• Experience with electromechanical products and test systems
• Medical device test method and fixture development experience
• Strong organizational skills and self-motivation

About the role:
As a Field Service Technician II (MedSurg) at Boston Scientific, you will be on the front lines of delivering excellence in service for our innovative capital equipment portfolio. In this field-based role, you will be responsible for pre-installation assessments, installations, maintenance, troubleshooting, and service repair of a range of capital devices. These include Exalt-D Controller, StoneSmart Connect Console, Fluid Management System (FMS), iNod Console, and future capital products supporting our endoscopy and urology customers.

You will partner closely with the Field Sales Organization and other cross-functional teams to ensure our customers receive best-in-class support both onsite and remotely—enabling smooth clinical operations and a high-quality patient experience.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Proposing system configurations compatible with endoscopic procedure room equipment

• Managing clinical and technical customer relationships and expectations

• Ensuring seamless evaluation periods and resolving adoption barriers during implementation

• Capturing, tracking, and reporting customer issues through the Quality system

• Providing technical and process support both onsite and remotely in collaboration with internal teams

• Documenting systems and procedure rooms for remote support purposes

• Updating account records, and creating installation and field service reports in Salesforce

• Partnering with R&D and Commercialization teams to support new product launch activities

• Reporting field activities and performing electronic troubleshooting and component replacement

• Delivering in-servicing and training sessions for medical personnel

• Performing preventative and corrective maintenance and product upgrades

• Handling complaints and documenting them in the complaint handling system

• Installing systems and performing related duties, including special projects

Required qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a relevant technical role, with an AA degree or equivalent education/work experience

• Proficiency in computer networking, equipment troubleshooting, and administrative tasks

• Familiarity with standard electronic test equipment

• Ability to travel frequently and on short notice (up to 85%)

• Ability to manage expenses, coordinate travel, and handle customer interactions professionally

• Possession of a service vehicle (five years old or newer) and ability to meet insurance requirements

• Clean driving record

• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and sit/work at a computer for extended periods

• Experience working in hospitals and/or ambulatory surgery centers

• Strong verbal and written communication skills across diverse audiences

• Effective organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects

• Ability to diagnose and resolve video and IT system issues in healthcare environments

• Ability to walk and stand for up to 4 hours

• Proficiency with business software tools, including the Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred qualifications:

• Over 1 year of field service experience, preferably in medical equipment

• Two-year college degree (AA) with a focus in Biomedical Engineering or Electronics

• Prior experience in Technical Field Service, Biomedical roles, or Military technical MOS

• Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively manage multiple assignments

About the role:

This 2nd shift Quality Technician I (2pm-10pm) role will support MPC (Manufacturing, Packaging, and Chemistries) operations in Maple Grove. This role requires cross-functional collaboration with production, manufacturing, and quality team members. This role requires driving continuous improvement in product quality and compliance, owning and reporting nonconformances, and providing day-to-day quality support for manufacturing.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Downtime response to manufacturing floor issues
• Identify, solve, and scope quality issues on the manufacturing line including initiation, investigation, and completion of NCEPs.
• Provide technical, process, and quality support to product builders.
• Assist in quality training for product builders.
• Assist engineers in failure analysis and CAPA activities, including assignment as a CAPA project member.
• Revise existing documents, processes, and/or methods to correct or improve processes/products.
• Coordinate with upstream/downstream departments to adequately scope and contain nonconforming product.
• Identify and lead departmental initiatives related to best quality practices and continuous improvement.
• Identify, prioritize and resolve quality issues identified by metrics.
• Update databases and spreadsheets used to track, monitor, and report department activities.
• Use the inventory and traceability management systems to transact and research material.
• Assist with product failure analysis.
• Assist with audit-related activities.
• Participate in and follow direction with regard to basic statistical analysis and data collection.

Required qualifications:

• High school diploma/degree/equivalent work experience

Preferred qualifications:

• 1 year in the medical device field in a quality role
• Able to work independently under limited supervision as well as in a team environment
• Lean manufacturing experience
• Ability to proactively identify improvement opportunities
