Telecommunications engineers are highly employed in the technology industry, responsible for a wide range of activities related to the production, installation, operation and maintenance of communication systems and networks. As a telecommunications engineer on Expoint, you will be tasked with the responsibility of designing, building, maintaining, testing, and improving communication services and networks for both businesses, corporations, and for customers of those services.
Your skills and expertise is essential in helping businesses and consumers stay connected with voice, data, and video. You would also maintain one-hundred-percent service quality and peak efficiency of networks and related operations.
You would spend your days in Expoint developing and managing networks, building connectivity solutions and troubleshooting any hardware or software issues. You could also be responsible for filing permits of coordination and rights of way applications with appropriate agencies.
On Expoint you would need to be able to define technologies, methodologies, and trends such as Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP), virtualization, cloud computing, MPLS, and IP networking; understand multiple technologies and how they may connect to form end-to-end services; and make current recommendations for long-term strategies for voice and data applications, networks, and other systems.
Finally, you would need to be a problem solver, as a telecommunications engineer. You should possess excellent communication and customer service skills, and a drive to work in an ever-changing environment within an industry that is quickly changing with technology.
