About the Role

You will work closely with Software Engineers, Researchers, and Data Engineers across the full AI lifecycle: from early experimentation and prototyping to deploying production-grade AI systems that support millions of users. Your focus will include Multimodal Generative AI system , working with videos, images, and textual data, and contributing to both infrastructure and end-user capabilities.


Responsibilities
  • Design, build, and optimize systems that use multimodal data and Generative AI architectures in scalable, reliable, and cost-effective ways.

  • Lead development of AI led user experiences, including those using videos, live-streams, images, audio and textual data.

  • Help advance eBay’s internal platform for GenAI applications, contributing reusable components, and APIs.

  • Monitor and optimize AI systems in production for performance, quality, and responsible AI use.

Qualifications
  • 8+ years in software or machine learning engineering roles.

  • Proven success in taking AI-powered products from prototype to production, with an emphasis on maintainability, performance, and user impact.

  • Strong programming skills in Java or similar JVM languages, with working proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorRT).

  • Hands-on experience with:

    • Docker & Kubernetes
