Software QA engineers play a critical role in the tech industry, ensuring that software products work correctly and are of high quality. They are responsible for all aspects of the software, from analyzing and planning tests through to running tests, debugging code, and providing feedback and recommendations to the software development team.
At Expoint, we are looking for software QA engineers who are proactive and analytical in their approach. They must be highly detail-oriented, with a clear understanding of how software works and how components are connected. Experience with automation tools and databases is also important, as is robust knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, and Bash.
Responsibilities of a software QA engineer on Expoint include developing, executing and maintaining test plans, maintaining and authoring test cases, logging detailed bug reports, and ensuring that software products are functioning reliably and securely. They also provide feedback to developers and suggest improvements to the software development process.
Software QA engineers need to be able to work with the engineering team to identify and prioritize testing, establishing the best test scenarios for various product features and assessing their feasibility before starting the testing. Additionally, knowledge and understanding of testing processes, such as unit testing, coding, debugging and regression are essential.
