The Proposal Manager’s role is to create, manage, and execute the bid strategy across the board; from producing the design and layout of the proposal to developing the content. The Proposal Manager must be an organized self-starter with an aptitude for multi-tasking and managing deadlines. They'll also be expected to ensure high-quality customer service, maintain customer records and analyze customer feedback.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, creating bid and proposal documents, developing effective relationships with clients and external parties, collaborating with stakeholders and other bid team members to ensure the success of each bid and proposal, and analysing customer feedback. The proposal manager should be knowledgeable about the product offerings of the company, as well as its competitors.
The ideal candidate must possess strong writing and editing skills, be detail-oriented, and have the ability to think strategically. Having exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, as well as excellent customer service skills is a must. A background in business development or sales is preferred, but any other relevant experience is also considered.
