As an EHS advisor, you will provide onsite support for Apex manufacturing, Durham data center, and associated office locations. You will provide guidance and consultation on the range of EHS topics and ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations. You will build relationships with cross functional teams and work closely with site leadership and process engineering to eliminate or mitigate EHS hazards.
You will:
Maintain certification to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 and adherence to the Responsible Business Alliance (RBA) code of conduct for Apex manufacturing
Conducts job hazard analysis and supports safe implementation of engineering, facilities, operations and product development projects to include recommendations for controls
Conducts EHS briefings for management and site teams relevant to EHS metrics, regulatory updates, trends, unsafe activities and consultation on new issues. Maintains required documentation for regulatory agencies
Investigates or ensures adequate investigation of all incidents using root cause analysis, facilitates corrective action to prevent future occurrence, routinely inspects work area for EHS hazards and identifies improvement opportunities
Manages and implements EHS programs for the site including, but not limited to, operational safety, occupational health, emergency preparedness, contractor safety, ergonomics and environment
Essential Requirements
Comprehensive knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety program topics
Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Advanced problem-solving skills with limited direction
Desirable Requirements
Certification in an EHS applicable field such as CSP
Technical degree in engineering, science or EHS related field

As an Air Compliance Regional Environmental Engineer (REE), your primary focus will be serving as the air quality compliance subject matter expert (SME) across the Americas region, providing programmatic oversight and ensuring alignment of compliance practices across all AWS data centers. You will work closely with other REEs, operations teams, environmental consultants, and regulatory agencies to ensure consistent application of air quality compliance programs, particularly those related to tier 4 compliant diesel generators. You'll be responsible for developing and maintaining compliance systems and best practices that support AWS growth in the Americas, collaborating with partner teams throughout the data center operational lifecycle.
