Are you a computer whiz who can speak and think just as much as you can type? If so, a career in computational linguistics might be a great fit for you! Expoint is excited to offer the opportunity to join a rapidly growing segment of the tech industry. As a computational linguist, you will be charged with using computers to process language and develop practical applications. This role requires an individual with a broad technical knowledge — you must be adept in both programming and linguistic analysis.
Along with researching and developing language-comprehension systems, it is expected that you will also be able to design and implement algorithms, interpret and analyze linguistic data using various software, and configure and modify computer programs. In addition, you should also be able to design, test, and debug artificial-intelligence programs.
The computational linguist’s job does not end once these tasks are completed: you should also be familiar with analyzing and reporting on the qualitative and quantitative results of the research you conduct. The position also requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, as you will frequently interact with clients and other team members. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make an impact on the field of natural language processing systems, making it a great opportunity for professional growth and satisfaction.
