The role of an Assembler is integral in the tech industry. From smartphones and tablets to laptops and gaming consoles, tech products require intricate assembly and testing. As an Assembler, you will be responsible for the final assembly of products prior to them being shipped to the customer. You will need to understand the product, its components and its manufacturing processes in order to build it properly. Additionally, you need to know the proper way to assemble the various components, which may include soldering equipment, wires, screws, test points and solders. Quality control is a key component of the role, as you will be required to conduct tests on the final product to ensure it meets or exceeds expectations, as well as any industry standards. You will need to observe any technical issues that may arise, report them and take corrective action, if necessary. You will also be responsible for using your technical and troubleshooting skills, when necessary. This will include being on call to diagnose and troubleshoot issues that have been reported by customers. Additionally, you may need to provide technical assistance to customers who have just bought the product, who may not be comfortable performing the setup themselves. Finally, an Assembler role will include being familiar with the latest technologies and trends. You will be required to stay up-to-date on industry advancements, which includes new components, assemblies, design and processes.
