  • Carries out direct cycle count activities on site and coordinates count staff to ensure count schedules are maintained.
  • Assists in development of process improvements on site in relation to inventory related process steps and hold up for implementation.
  • Oversees and performs regular internal audits and external audit preparation in accordance to company's best practices and external required standards.
  • Produces statistical management information and key performance indicators measuring inventory performance and service levels provided to each customer.
  • Monitors procedural compliance; holds up implementation of new procedures in conjunction with management and operations.
  • Liaises with internal and external customers and deals with requests and issues.
  • Research excess inventory by customer and makes recommendations for reducing excess and obsolete material including coordination of movement of excess material back to the customer.
  • Negotiates sales price and coordinates the sale of excess material.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

The Transportation Operations (Outbound) team will manage all DC-related Transportation Logistics Service Providers’ (LSPs) capacity and service issues (equipment, no-shows). You will facilitate the flow of information between different stakeholders (Carriers/DCs/Terminals/Stores) and resolve any potential risk to customers. In addition to coordinating the movement of products you will play a vital role in supporting the management of Nike rental assets keeping detailed records of vehicle maintenance to ensure they remain operational for daily and business use, and repairs are resolved quickly to sustain a constant flow of assets.

  • Accountable for on-time pick-up and delivery, and carrier performance for outbound shipments from assigned DCs
  • Escalation points for ongoing DC carrier issues (carrier capacity no-shows); solve for delivery exceptions
  • Manage dwell, detention, and truck order not used to reduce cost.
  • Provide proactive updates to customers, shippers, and receivers for any shipment.
  • Lost / Stolen recovery of Nike assets and/or product
  • Create monthly reports on overall performance and the targets achieved.
  • Manage & support the execution of Transportation plans for shipping peak season and monthly/quarterly/year-end
  • Proactively identify opportunities to minimize expedites
  • Implement and develop Carrier Compliance programs
  • Manage day-to-day operational support for assigned DC(s) to assess equipment needs and ensure equipment is on hand to meet DC demand
  • Conduct deep dive on all payment approval requests
  • Manage support for escalation issues as they relate to all yard management activities (shuttling, hosteling, and rental trailer capacity needs) for assigned DCs
  • Escalate YMS compliance issues to the assigned Memphis DC Operations team for resolution
  • Proactively identify DC transportation cost savings opportunities (e.g., mode optimization, backhaul opportunities, RTV programs) and raise to appropriate transportation leaders or cross-functional partners (e.g., DC)
  • Reduce transportation chargebacks and support various customer carrier initiatives
  • Identify, develop, and implement continuous improvement activities to improve operating metrics and performance, specifically related to cost, service, and compliance (e.g. route optimization, carrier selection, backhauls, and trailer loading)
