Tax Advisor, National Tax (Exempt Organizations) (Senior) (Multiple Positions) (1628490), Ernst & Young U.S. LLP, Pittsburgh, PA.
Provide clients with tax guidance and planning related to for-profit affiliates of exempt organizations, and protecting tax-exempt status of parent organizations. Focus exclusively on the for-profit affiliates of tax-exempt organizations, including: universities, health care systems and high profile charities, ensuring these organizations maintain their tax-exempt status and are viable to serve their exempt purpose for years to come. Prepare and review tax returns for exempt organizations and their taxable affiliates (990s/1120s/1065s and related filings; including international filings, IRS audit defense strategies, and other tax matters). Implement tax strategies that align with the client's business objectives. Develop a skillset based on how tax-exempt organizations perform their missions within their communities.
Full time employment, Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week, 8:30 am – 5:30 pm.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, Tax, or a related field and 2 years of related work experience. Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, Tax, or a related field and 1 year of related work experience.Must have 1 year of experience with a professional services firm, mid-sized/regional to large sized/national public accounting firm, law firm, or the IRS.Must have 1 year of experience with tax-exempt and non-profit taxation compliance or consulting, including international filings and IRS audit defense strategies.Must have 1 year of experience preparing forms 990, 1120 and 1065.Must have 1 year of experience guiding junior tax professionals by providing effective performance feedback.Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, and experience.
