Description:

Key Responsibilities

Assists in planning the daily work schedule within assigned territory to ensure completion of Preventive Maintenance and remedial maintenance.

Uses escalation policies as required to keep management informed of down situations.

Verifies and approves the operational quality of system equipment. Performs daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, biannual, and annual periodic maintenance on systems within established time frames. Also performs wet cleans as required. Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of systems.

Troubleshoots and corrects process variations on systems partially with assistance from senior engineers.

Performs start-up, warranty, paid service, and service contract activities. Performs TIER II start-ups within established time frames. Assists on TIER III start-ups. Provides technical assistance to less experienced Applied personnel. Uses training and experience to identify some process related system problems.

Develops and implements plans to increase productivity. Tracks equipment performance and plan uptime improvement. Has a working knowledge of Statistical Process Control. Utilises Quality Improvement Process methods and terminology.

Plans and executes support activities on a wide range of Applied Materials' systems. May need technical assistance in performance of daily responsibilities.

Other Requirements: This is a physically demanding position that often requires extensive walking, standing for extended periods of time, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting up to 35 lbs., the ability to distinguish between colors, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, and the use of hand and powertools. Additionally,because this position generally involves working in a clean room, it requires the use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields.

Biomedical Equipment Technician - Portland, Oregon & Travel within West Zone

This position supports the Multi-Vendor Biomedical business with our clients. This position will be responsible for customer relationship management through the effective use of technical knowledge to install, troubleshoot, and service Biomedical Equipment at customer sites.

Your role:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and service repair on equipment utilizing the service manual, OJT, OEM or 3rd Party training.
  • Identifying and resolving customer issues, providing the customer with the appropriate communication and involving appropriate site service personnel.
  • Maintaining customer satisfaction is the primary goal. Therefore, the BMET must demonstrate ownership in difficult circumstances and show a sense of urgency about delivering results, ability to establish the priorities of the moment by assessing the priorities communicated by the Site Manager, the Site Team or the customer.
  • Independently complete PMs, FCOs, installations, and all related tasks and independently diagnose, resolve electronic, network, and mechanical problems, and resolve customer issues.
  • Travel 50% to Accounts located throughout the West Zone.

the right fit if:

  • 2+ years of experience servicing medical equipment; general biomedical, patient monitoring, blood pressure monitors, defibrillators, or infusion pump experience highly preferred.
  • Associates degree in electronics or equivalent combination of education and experience;BSEE/BSEET/BSME/BSMETpreferred.
  • Your skills include working knowledge of electronic circuit boards, schematics, processors and computer hardware including applications, programming, and systems functionality. Ability to understand and apply electronic, mechanical, and networking theory to install, diagnose, and repair equipment, including knowledge and use of all necessary tools and test equipment is also required.

  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for thisposition.

  • You must be able to work flexible hours (based on business needs to include overtime, weekends, and on-call rotations) and safely work with radiation sources and/or radioactive materials; wear all required personal protective equipment.

  • You must be able to travel, by car and airplane, 50% of the time to Accounts located within the West Zone.

The hourly pay range for this position in Oregon is$24.88 to $39.81, plus overtimeeligible.

This role also includes on-call pay, training, and advancementopportunities. Theactual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
