This includes low, medium, high and control voltage equipment including distribution transformers, circuit breakers, switchgears, busbars, motor control centers, isolation/disconnect switches, fuse, cables, relays, surge protection and grounding equipment. The primary function of this role is to successfully accomplish testing, pre-commissioning and energization of electrical systems across the facility including electrical power distribution systems (medium, low and control voltages), lighting and other electrical systems.
What You’ll Do
  • Participate in Construction/Commissioning Completion and Quality Inspection walkdowns to ensure completed systems are handed over to the commissioning team
  • Able to prepare working schedules and estimate resources for each task
  • Develop deficiencies lists and perform troubleshooting during commissioning and start-up
  • Conduct on-site testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities on various equipment, including equipment, sub-system, and integrated system level testing, with the highest safety standards
  • Complete electrical commissioning checklists in the Completions Management System (CMS)
  • Work closely with vendors to ensure commissioning quality and completion within the vendors’ scope
  • Follow and complete proper energization protocols with highest level of Safety
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in electrical systems commissioning, installation, or maintenance, preferably in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Highly Safety Conscious with ability to wear and use all PPE, including hard hats, boots, and other safety equipment
  • Ability to work in various environments, including construction sites, and perform physical tasks such as lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods. Ability to carry tools and equipment to site
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.

Travel up to 75-80% of the timeis required once the project in Sparks is complete.
What You’ll Do
  • Coordinate between electrical construction / contractors, the commissioning team, operations and qualified electrical resources to ensure appropriate electrical resources perform and document required testing, inspections and commissioning activities
  • Directly supervise the electrical commissioning team (direct employees and contractors) to ensure goals and work practices are in accordance to the relevant industry and Tesla standards. Prioritize electrical commissioning sequencing to meet project objectives
  • Be a leader in safety at the site by ensuring commissioning activities are carried out according to Tesla safety procedures, ensuring important metrics are met or exceeded. This includes conducting pre-startup safety reviews and punch listing as well as implementing the Tesla electrical isolation and LOTO procedures associated with construction, commissioning and operation of the electrical distribution system
  • Conduct on-site testing, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities on various equipment, including equipment, sub-system, and integrated system level testing, with the highest safety standards
  • Identify and raise issues with equipment that could affect operator safety & plant reliability in addition to investigating and resolving electrical related equipment issues and failures in a timely/efficient manner including providing recommendations to solving technical issues based on experience in electrical troubleshooting as well as participating/leading root cause analysis of equipment failures
What You’ll Bring
  • Strong preference for Degree in Engineering or the equivalent in experience with the ability to interpret single line diagrams, three-line diagrams, control schematics, construction drawings/ details, P&ID’s and other electrical user documentation
  • Experience and solid understanding of electrical construction and industry standards such as NFPA 70 & NEC and NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace
  • Experience, and knowledge of electrical distribution system equipment including setting up and programming various electrical protection relays
  • Experience with electrical testing and procedures as well national testing standards (NETA) and test equipment including, but not limited to, multi-function meter, insulation resistance tester (megger), low resistance ohmmeter (ductor), high potential dielectric withstand equipment (hi-pot), current injection units and sweep frequency response analysis (SFRA) equipment
  • Ability to take on or assist with other construction and commissioning roles
  • Understand corrective actions for nonconforming conditions and regulatory impacts

  • Configure, and calibrate a variety of instrumentation and control systems, including sensors, transmitters, controllers, and actuators
  • Perform loop checks and Complete I&C commissioning checklists in the CMS system
  • Work closely with external vendors and internal PLC programming team to ensure I&C logic for successful commissioning and start ups
  • Support mechanical/electrical/process commissioning team during C&E and SOO testing
  • Participate in commissioning completion walkdowns with facilities operations and maintenance teams

  • Degree in Instrumentation & Controls, Industrial Automation, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Instrumentation and Controls commissioning. Experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is highly desirable

What You’ll Do
  • Participate in construction completion and quality inspection walkdowns, develop deficiencies lists, and ensure systems are handed over to the commissioning team. Perform on-site testing, pre-commissioning, commissioning activities, and troubleshooting on various equipment, including equipment-level, sub-system-level, and integrated system testing, with a focus on safety
  • Complete equipment-related commissioning checklists on the Completions Management System and perform wet commissioning with water, inert media, or process fluids
  • Work closely with vendors to ensure commissioning quality within their scope and perform measurement and verification of streams (air, water, fluids) via local and remote instrumentation
  • Follow detailed commissioning and flushing procedures, remove flanges and pipework as needed, and dynamically test equipment and systems
  • Coordinate activities with operations, facilities engineering, and maintenance, ensuring alignment across departments
  • Must be a motivated self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills, superior communication, and team skills, and have detailed knowledge of MEP Systems, including chillers, pumps, heat exchangers, water softening plants, RO, air compressors, dryers, and fire fighting equipment
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years in mechanical systems commissioning, installation, or maintenance, preferably in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Relevant certifications in mechanical systems commissioning, HVAC, or similar fields (e.g., ASHRAE, AABC, NEBB) are a plus
