The Threat Detection team is looking for an experienced security engineer with expertise in networking and detection engineering to join us as a Security Engineer II. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the maturation of the Threat Detection program across AWS infrastructure. You will work to research, identify, and assess information security threats, and then translate findings into building alerting.You will partner directly with the Threat Response team to build workflows/automation to increase the fidelity of alerting, as well as decreasing the level of effort for responders to triage and mitigate security issues/events.As a level of technical escalation, you will apply your security and business knowledge to drive secure and pragmatic improvements broadly to AWS Infrastructure Services, all while making technical trade-offs between short- and long-term security and business goals.
- 3+ years of programming in Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++ or similar object oriented language experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP
- 2+ years of any combination of the following: threat modeling experience, secure coding, identity management and authentication, software development, cryptography, system administration and network security experience
- Experience with AWS products and services
- Experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, C++

In this role, you will:
Manage a team of individual contributor engineers, including engage in mentoring and guiding the professional and technical development of the team members
Ensure the craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third-party providers
Identify and recommend opportunities for developing functional and technical strategies for the domain, as well as the development of actionable short and long-term product roadmaps, by partnering with business product managers, lead systems architects, and experienced engineers
Contribute to resolving issues and making decisions regarding strategic products in support of business objectives
Oversee engineering teams to ensure commitments are aligned to strategic product priorities, and ultimately satisfied through quality deliverables
Interpret and develop security, stability, and scalability within key areas of technology risk
Collaborate and consult with agile teams and product managers to drive outcomes
Interact directly with third party vendors and technology service providers, and ensure vendors deliver on their commitments to Wells Fargo
Manage allocation of people and financial resources in support of technology budgets
Required Qualifications
4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
4+ years of experience in a hands-on technical role such as software engineer or similar role
2+ years of Leadership experience
2+ years leading or developing in Workday or similar Software as a Service Human Capital Management systems (SaaS HCM)
2+ years of Agile experience
Desired Qualifications
2+ years of experience with Workday HCM
Experience with both domestic and international talent acquisition processes
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
A BS/BA degree or higher
Hands-on experience working on Scrum / Agile team
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to manage effectively in virtual environment where key team members and partners are in various time zones and locations
Ability to take initiative, identify opportunities and implement change

Pay range from this role is between $111,100 to $197,500 depending on experience and expertise.
Hybrid work schedule, 3 days in office, 2 from home office. Our leaders are expected to lead by example by work on site at least three days per week, on average.
Ability to travel up to 20%

Key Responsibilities
