As a Manufacturing Test Engineer, you’ll have a unique opportunity to shape the development and future of the AWS Solutions Hardware team. In this role you will innovate and solve problems of high ambiguity and high impact. You will drive design choices, trade-offs, priorities and timelines that align with overall project goals. You will demonstrate exceptional technical expertise, and practical experience designing factory test solutions. You are data and metric driven, and consistently strive for optimal performance even in resource-constrained situations. You will guide and inspire other engineers, participate in defining our engineering culture, and help to build a world class team.A day in the life
As a Sr Manufacturing Test Engineer you’ll be expected to:
• Design and Develop test solutions and test-setup prototypes for new technologies
• Work collaboratively with engineering and operations partners
• Serve as a test lead on cross-functional projects with significant bottom-line impact
• Ensure the quality and execution of our manufacturing test systems
• Lead test design and drive test coverage reviews with engineering teams and CMs.
• Proactively communicate technical information and status to broad, cross-functional teams via weekly updates
• Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straight-forward solutions
• Understand system inter-dependencies and limitations
• Travel to development and build sites in Seattle and Asia to support NPI activities.
• Work with contract manufacturing test teams to ensure test line readiness for NPI build events.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans and functional test procedures
- Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or equivelant.
- 7+ years of test development experience working directly within engineering teams and contract manufacturers.
- Experience building and operating production systems or test framework and tools with at least one modern language such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Labview or other related language.
- Experience in test methodologies for RF, Wireless and GPS designs.
- Knowledge of factory and test best practices including systems development, process control, vendor engagement, and test operations.
- Understanding of rapid product development lifecycles and system development best practices.

Your Responsibilities Includes:

  • Product Demand Planning: Lead forecast development at the product family/SKU levels via collaboration with cross-functional partners; manage forecast system inputs and improve forecast accuracy/reduce forecast bias.
  • Facilitate monthly SI&OP process/meetings and create PowerPoint presentation decks for demand planning and net requirements; independently collaborate with global planning teams to understand drivers of build requirement changes and clearly communicate them to manufacturing or SFMD partners.
  • Identify and monitor performance to forecast by utilizing GSC key performance indicators and reporting tools.
  • Work closely with manufacturing partners in ensuring product build plans & delivery schedules are appropriately aligned to global inventory needs. Identify gaps between financial, production and consensus demand plans and collaborate with appropriate cross functional teams to mitigate the gaps.
  • Assist with and in some cases own team projects & other initiatives such as new product launches, end-of-life planning, distribution network changes and country expansions.
  • Contribute to the development of inventory plans. Monitor inventory performance to plan and target. Assist GSCM with the management of expired, excess, and obsolescence reserves.
  • Collaborates with Regional or Country Planners in ensuring their demand plans are accurate and inventory is appropriately managed/balanced across multiple DC sites.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply chain, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years of work experience in Supply Chain, Supply planning, Production, Inventory management or related functions
  • Working experience with systems such as MRP, SAP, ERP
  • Strong PC skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Consistently performs to a high level of accuracy and with a high attention to detail.
  • Adaptable, flexible, and willing to accept new ideas, processes, and procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills: able to efficiently use data to make good decisions.
  • Strong communication skills: able to present information to varying levels of an organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred experience in the medical device or biotech industry
  • Preferred experience using SAP, Rapid Response/Kinaxis, or other ERP systems.
  • Extensive experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (e.g., Marketing, Sales, Finance, Distribution Centers, International offices, Suppliers, Manufacturing)

  • Works directly with project/program managers to help implement project/program objectives, support variable aspects of projects, and collaborates to monitor and drive timely execution.
  • Conducts quantitative and qualitative analysis to support project/program objectives, including but not limited to assessing resource utilization, maintaining project management systems, tracking project progress and efficiency, monitoring objectives and key results (OKR)/business indicators, identifying performance gaps, assessing project/program risks and ensuring compliance with processes and guidelines.
  • Utilizes advanced visualization skills to report data led insights to key stakeholders, facilitating optimal decision making.
  • Engages directly with key BU/domain stakeholders on matters of significance to meeting program/project objectives.
  • Collaborates with business project/program managers to develop and maintain project/program management infrastructure in areas such as issue tracking, reporting, dashboard monitoring, deckbuilding/storyboarding,project plan builds, monitoring and analysis.
