As a part of the Manufacturing Design team, you will have the opportunity to lead the development of quality processes for new and exciting parts. Not only will you define the quality, metrology and process requirements but you will also be a part of defining how new manufacturing processes are being designed from the ground up.
In this highly visible role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on Apple Products and leave a footprint for years to come. Our quality engineering team enables the mass creation of impossible products as a partner in the development of Apple's renowned designs. • Partner with tooling and functional teams to evaluate design and processes at the concept phase• Develop measurement technologies, control strategies, information systems, and manufacturing methods that achieve ambitious specifications at substantial production scale• Develop and implement groundbreaking quality inspection tools to evaluate cosmetic and dimensional part characteristics• Compile and evaluate data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process and part specification• Lead activities to balance unparalleled quality with scalable yields• Collaborate with internal and external groups to ensure that proper definition of quality expectations and that appropriate assurance techniques are used for the product• Establish audit procedures appropriate to program and supplier to ensure alignment to Apple quality standards• Evaluate and communicate yields of new and existing processes• Drive corrective actions with internal and external team members
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and Quality Control
  • Travel internationally to supplier sites - 30%
  • BS in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing systems engineering, or similar)
  • Experience developing process quality plans, supplier quality audits, and driving corrective actions and failure analysis efforts.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical quality and reliability concepts, supplier management, and general manufacturing operations.
  • Experience with the development and evaluation of measurement systems
  • Project management experience and a solid understanding of problem solving tools including design of experiments, root cause analysis and statistical analytical tools
  • Experience with any of the following: mechanical enclosures, castings, plastic parts, injection molding, stamping, tooling, jigs, fixtures, or automotive high volume quality manufacturing engineering
  • International experience, particularly in Asia is a plus

This role requires an engineering mentality paired with data fluency and applied AI experimentation. You’ll leverage Python for analysis, use Tableau to visualize key performance indicators and build text-driven workflows that help engineers interpret, act on, and communicate quality data more efficiently.
  • Identify and drive quality improvement opportunities in future products
  • Lead Process FMEAs on new technologies and manufacturing processes
  • Conduct technical failure analysis to support root cause investigations
  • Generate and implement Product Quality Plans (PQPs)
  • Establish quality monitoring mechanisms and metrics across the supply chain
  • Build and maintain Python-based tools for data automation, transformation, and visualization
  • Create Tableau dashboards for trend detection, anomaly flagging, and performance tracking
  • Apply prompt engineering to design AI-powered workflows for smart search, RCA lookup, report summarization, and supplier interaction
  • Pilot and refine agentic AI workflows that support test correlation, post-build analysis, and issue triage
