As a Systems Engineer, you will support global project teams in designing system architecture, managing requirements, and performing component and system testing. Working in a cross-functional team, you’ll help develop integrated mechatronic systems for automotive applications, combining hydraulic systems with motors, controllers, and software. You will also contribute to process improvements and testing through bench and vehicle integration.
Your Responsibilities will be to:
Develop mechatronic systems according to the V-Model in compliance with automotive standards
Understand system requirements on a multi-disciplinary level, define sub-systems and interfaces
Coordinate with global expert teams
Design and develop systems and system architectures based on customer requirements and for internal development activities
Support in defining the testing strategy and scope and support testing and validation on system and integration level
Work closely with customer and inter-company development team
Our requirements:
Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related fields
Relevant experience of ideally 2-3 years in a similar position
Proficiency in reading technical drawings and ability to create, interpret schematics and diagrams
Able to navigate in CAD systems and able to understand FEA and CFD results
Practical experience in mechanical and hydraulic systems
Solid experience in common development tools (e.g. Matlab, Simulink)
Familiarity with tools which manage requirements (e.g. Doors, Helix) is a plus
Solid understanding of physical principles
Excellent team player with a proactive, hands-on attitude, strong communication and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in English (both spoken and written), while proficiency in German is highly preferred

Experience with CAN, LIN communication protocols
Knowledge of Functional Safety, Cyber security is a plus
Knowledge of V-Model development processes and ASPICE is a plus
Practical experience with electronic test equipment and Vector Hardware are considered as a plus

- To qualify for this programme, you must:
- Be 18 years or over before the start date (September 2026)
- Have the right to live and work in England (if you are on a visa, this needs to enable you to legally work and reside in England for the entire duration of the programme until September 2030).
- Have lived in the UK or in the European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 years
- Be a resident of the UK for the entire duration of the programme
- Not be registered to study on a UK government funded course ending August 2026 or later
- Have at least 5 GCSEs C grade (grade 4) or above including Maths and English
- Three A levels (or equivalent) at C (grade 4) or above in either Mathematics, IT, Physics, or an Engineering related subject, OR have completed a BTEC level 3 engineering qualification of 180 credits which must include further mathematics
