To qualify for the role you must have

• A bachelor’s degree in an accounting, finance or business.
• A minimum of five (5) years’ work experience as an auditor in a public accounting firm, ideally with experience serving clients in the Banking & Capital Markets industry
• An internationally recognized professional accounting qualification, such as a CA, CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent
• Working knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS
• Engagement management, execution and reporting skills, and the ability to build relationships with clients with a diverse range of backgrounds
• Confidence in your ability to prioritize when managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills and a collaborative approach to management
• The flexibility to constantly learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Knowledge of current market issues in the Banking & Capital Markets sector

Your key responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end invoicing processes, including invoice creation, data preparation, review, and finalization, ensuring accuracy and compliance with purchase orders.
• Extract, analyse, and validate invoicing data from SOWs (external) and IOMs (internal subcontracting).
• Collaborate with client vendors and internal teams (AR/AP) to resolve invoicing issues and ensure smooth payment processing.
• Prepare complex settlements and interfirm statements in line with internal policies.
• Capture and maintain billing metrics in relevant systems and support technical implementation in respective tools.
• Carry out billing-related activities such as invoice handling, shipping, and dunning processes.
• Conduct proactive analysis, discussions, and evaluations with Engagement Teams regarding services and projects provided for accounts.

Your Profile

You have:

• Master’s degree in law from an EU-27 jurisdiction. Specialisation in EU law is a distinct advantage;
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
• Ability to lead large multidisciplinary and multicultural teams involving partners, experts, and internal teams.
• Ability to foster talents of colleagues by leading by example and fostering opportunities to learn and grow
• Experience of writing and winning competitive bids.

Your role

As part of our capital markets team in Munich, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Berlin, Hamburg, or Stuttgart, you will provide audit and non-audit services to clients who are developing and executing transformational strategies, such as launching an initial public offering (IPO) in the U.S., implementing improvements to internal controls under the U.S. Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX) and transitioning to either IFRS or US GAAP accounting standards.Our Capital Markets team in Germany is part of our Professional Practice Group, which is responsible for supporting our audit teams in applying audit standards appropriately and maintaining the firm’s central priority of audit quality. You will take on a wide range of tasks:

• Deliver technical accounting and US financial reporting advice across a range of clients and capital markets transactions
• Supporting our audit teams to deliver audits under PCAOB and local audit standards
• Deliver training and coaching to our German audit practice on developments in audit standards and methodologies, including digital audit transformation and regulatory inspection support
• Expanding your network as you build relationships with senior stakeholders at your clients, their securities legal counsel, and within EY
