As a Private Equity Associate, you will be responsible for the sourcing, underwriting, and execution of new investments and portfolio management. You will be a key member of the private equity team working directly with the Managing Directors, managing transactions and investments across a variety of industries. In this exciting and challenging role, you will be expected to identify new investments, work on financial analyses and due diligence reviews, prepare investment memos and presentations, and monitor portfolio companies.
Your daily duties and responsibilities will also include working with fund managers, investors, and syndication teams to facilitate transactions and support current investments. You’ll need to use your excellent interpersonal and communication skills to communicate with team members, advisors, and potential investors. You’ll need to be able to develop financial models, assess opportunities and negotiate terms with potential investments. You’ll also be expected to provide regular updates on the progress of the deals, and develop and maintain relationships with institutional investors, lenders and joint venture partners.
To qualify for this role, you must have at least four years of experience in private equity with a strong knowledge of domestic and international markets and private equity best practices. You must be detail oriented and able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. You should have an in-depth understanding of capital market structures, firm valuations, and financing structures. A master’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field would be an asset, as well as strong qualitative and quantitative analysis skills.
