Your Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Consultant, you'll contribute to client engagements and internal projects. An important part of your role will be to actively establish, maintain and strengthen internal and external relationships. You will also identify potential business opportunities for EY within existing engagements. Similarly, you anticipate and identify risks within engagements and raise any issues with senior members of the team. As an influential member of the team, you will help create a positive learning culture, while providing coaching and counselling to other team members.

To qualify for the role you must have

• Understanding of operational models of the finance function
• Please be advised that this role does not meet the training and experience requirements for those individuals wishing to pursue their Chartered Accountant designation.
• Consulting experience is highly desired
• Background in operational finance and/or accounting functions is highly desired

Your key responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) operating models, as well as budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes.
• Gather and translate business requirements into effective FP&A process designs and financial models, ensuring alignment with technical specifications.
• Collaborate closely with technical consultants to support the technical design and build of EPM solutions, ensuring functional requirements are met.
• Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring seamless execution of all functional aspects of EPM implementations.
• Lead testing efforts for EPM solutions, working with technical teams to validate that systems are configured correctly and meet business needs.
• Provide functional support throughout the implementation process, including system setup, documentation, and user training.
• Guide and mentor junior consultants, ensuring high-quality delivery that meets or exceeds client expectations.
• Learn and grow within a dynamic team focused on financial performance technologies.

• Global Business Services including Shared Service Centers, Outsourcing

What you will do

As an influential member of the team, you'll help to create a positive learning culture and will actively coach and counsel junior team members to help them develop.

Client responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of Finance Transformation engagements, which involves advising clients on their internal finance strategy, operating models, and financial processes
• Assist in managing the financial aspects of engagements by organizing staffing, tracking budget and communicating issues to project leaders
• Participate in business development initiatives (POVs, Proposals, NextWave Sessions, among others)
• Build strong internal relationships within Consulting and across other services

People Management responsibilities

• Keep people at center through effective supervising, coaching, and mentoring of staff members
• Conduct performance reviews and contribute to performance feedback for staff
• Contribute to people initiatives including recruiting, retaining and training Finance Transformation professionals
• Maintain an educational program to continually develop personal skills and knowledge

What you will bring to this role

• Strong academic record including a bachelor's degree and approximately a minimum of 7 years’ experience in industry or with a recognized consulting firm
• Professional designation and/or qualification is desired i.e. MBA, CPA, CA, CMA, CGA
• Experience in delivering projects that cover the full life cycle of assessment, design and implementation support
• Experience with emerging technologies and robotic process automation roll-out is an asset
• Experience managing staff on multiple projects and providing direction to team members

In addition to the SIO, you will work closely with the many areas of the business that are involved in;

• The identification and validation of potential investments, and
• The management of initial investment request through validation, performance tracking, through closure and reporting to the executives

Your key responsibilities

• SIO Support, Analysis & Insights, ROI Tracking and Reporting
• Proactively lead follow-up meetings with leaders to track spend and return on approved investments, which often-times involves providing challenge along with responsibility for communicating difficult decisions
• Coordinate with Finance for creation and tracking of engagement codes of approved investments
• Connect with leaders to understand investment requests, financing requirements (costs, gating, projections), and tracking framework
• Lead the maintenance of our complex investment tracker to ensure timely updates and accuracy of data. Bring thought leadership around the continuous improvement of the tracker and other SIO processes by identifying more efficient ways of compiling and tracking data, including potential for automation
• Extract insights from tracker to drive impactful decision making in the firm
• Take an active role in learning about the business and applying that knowledge to the job
• Contribute to enhancing and maintaining the SIO governance, investment request tracking, reporting and other processes
• Work with the SIO team and investment sponsor to assist in the development of business case for investment requests
• Assist in triaging investment requests to different working groups
• Collaborate with the SIO team, SIO Working Groups, cross-functional teams and leadership to assess investment requests
• Coordinate meetings
• Help draft agenda and prepare for Strategic Investment Committee meetings
• Prepare detailed investment reports and presentations for SIO, SIC and other stakeholders
• Present analysis and insights to Leadership during monthly SIC meetings as required
• Assist other workstreams as required

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field
• CPA designation or working towards it is considered an asset
• CBV designation or working towards it, and/or experience in financial modelling, is an asset
• Strong financial analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to a senior leadership audience.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Some knowledge of investment strategies, market trends, and economic factors influencing investment decisions is an asset.

Skills and attributes for success

• Minimum 15 years of experience in professional services, consulting, or strategic sales.
• Proven track record in leading or coaching complex, multi-service pursuits with deal values exceeding $15M.
• Deep understanding of pursuit strategy, client buying behavior, and competitive dynamics.
• Experience working with senior stakeholders, specifically C-suite executives.
• Demonstrated expertise in facilitating discussions, effectively communicating complex ideas, and influencing stakeholders to drive outcomes.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.

• Building strategic client relationships and driving business development initiatives
• Prior experience in a Deal Coach, Sales Capture, or Pursuit Lead role.

The salary range for this job in British Columbia is $200,000 to $350,000. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and work location city.
