Job Description for MRE Engineering Technician

• Perform all types of DET Guzik & QMT test
• Ensure no delay in DET testing and that the test results are available on time
• Buyoff measurement result is shown consistent and stable to meet Test Criteria
• Compile and upload data to Online SPC timely to meet expected Test TAT
• Continuously update all test request and other necessary tracking
• Receive from previous shift and pass down information to next shift clearly
• Perform head change whenever required
• Perform tester conversion buyoff and tester troubleshooting
• Support data package compilation for NPI, SMO, Time Slice and by request.
• Support reference & head issuance and inventory management
• Support reference generates and head screening activities
• Perform and maintain MRE lab 7S and follow all safety and health rules
• Carry out all jobs/tasks as assigned by Engineers
• PN1-PN2 cross plants travelling to support whenever required
• Able to work in cleanroom environment and rotating shift pattern 12 hourly
• Able to support different shift and work location as assigned

• Diploma or Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical), Engineering (Mechatronic/Electromechanical), Engineering (Electrical/Electronic) or equivalent
• 1-2 Years working experience in manufacturing environment with machine operation, data collection & analytical skills is preferred.
• Working experiences in sputter metrology tool and knowledge of Magnetic materials used in HDD would be an added advantage.
• Understanding of failure mechanisms, ability to isolate & detect process changes causing machine alarms.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Successful candidates will participate in the design, development and deployment of one of our new in-house test automation frameworks. This automation framework is meant to:

• Simplify test execution kick-off process
• Provide real-time test monitoring
• Improve and optimize test data calculation and analysis
• Generate automated test reports

REQUIRED

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or other related fields.
• Solid understanding of Linux systems and Shell scripting.

SKILLS

• Experience in Python/MATLAB/Octave or similar tools for mathematical data analysis.
• Experience in frontend/backend web programming is optional but welcome.
• Ability to research solutions to problems independently.

• Focal person in managing product quality since new product introduction throughout product life cycle. Participate in new product introductions to manufacturing by ensuring readiness of quality control systems and processes, verifying product quality monitoring and test capabilities, and addressing potential quality issues early to resolve them before production begins.
• Monitor product and process indicators to ensure compliance to quality requirement. Analyse indicators to identify trends, deviations, or opportunities for improvement. Utilize digital tools and platforms for real-time monitoring, reporting, and quality management.
• Working closely with respective issue owners to manage the non-conformity or inferior quality Finished Goods based on verification of data, risk assessment & engineering judgments.
• Coordinating quality improvement activities to address internal factory quality incidences & follow up with process team on root cause findings, corrective actions and the improvement plan.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, analyze, and resolve quality issues including HDD feedback. Leverage data analytics tools to interpret quality metrics, generate insights, and propose actionable improvements.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of quality assurance procedures, documentation, and best practices.
• Other tasks and assignments in sustaining & improving process control & product quality.

REQUIRED

• Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering, Data Science, Statistics or Science related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Familiarity with quality assurance methodologies (e.g., ISO standards, Six Sigma, or similar frameworks) is an added advantage.

As Sputter metrology Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out sample measurement and machine trouble shooting work. The successful candidate will be able to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and collaborate effectively; they will demonstrate a willingness to learn, flexibility, creative problem solving, exemplary communication skills and an ability to think on their feet. Candidates must be flexible to work a 12hour Shift Pattern and overtime, as required by the team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform measurement on characterization / evaluations samples following the experiment plan prepared by Engineer. As well as production monitoring samples.
• Carry out trouble shooting on metrology tools.
• Data compilation using Excel or Power point for measurement samples.

• Carry out periodic samples house keeping & other tasks assigned by Engineer.
• Support & cooperate with other department to solve assembly issue /MES (Manufacturing Execution System).
• Comply and support EHS policy. Participate company activities such as IMS, 6S, RBA, BCMS etc
