Job Description


Field Applications Engineer (FAE) Intern responsibilities include:

  • Using various sales tools and relationships with design engineering to identify all potential projects
  • Providing customers with proactive proposals for complete, system-level solutions that maximize TI content
  • Using broad technical expertise to influence customers' part selection process while favorably positioning TI versus competition

Minimum Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field
  • Cumulative 3.0/4.0 GPA or higher
  • Basic understanding of schematics, layouts and digital components
  • Knowledge and understanding of analog circuitry (examples include: op-amps, DC/DC power, data converters, sensing, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, along with soldering and debugging skills
  • Programming skills in C/C++ (LabView recommended)
  • Demonstrated strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
  • Strong time management skills that enable on-time project delivery
  • Ability to build lasting, influential relationships, both inside and outside the organization

Job Requirement:

  • Expertise in layout design of non-volatile memory IPs from scratch to final delivery.
  • Thorough understanding of memory architecture and SoC integration related constraints.
  • Expertise in layout design of analog/mixed-signal circuits such as charge pumps, oscillators, precision voltage references, current references and LDOs.
  • Deep understanding of reliability issues such as EM, IR, latch-up and debugging related issues.
  • Proficient in industry standard layout design tools (e.g., Cadence Virtuoso, PVS, etc.) and ability to adapt to a wide suite of custom EDA tools.
  • Strong scripting skills and basic understanding of memory circuit design.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in memory layout design with a focus on NVM IPs - OTP, EEPROM, high voltage generators (esp charge pumps)
  • Proven track record of delivering complete IP layout designs independently.

  • Compensation: Design and deliver competitive compensation programs for TI employees worldwide. Projects often include analyzing TI's market competitiveness, developing communication strategies to help managers make smart decisions, etc.
  • Ethics and Employee Relations: Help TI maintain its high ethical standards, commitment to social responsibility and strong employee relations. Projects typically focus on the development and support of key training modules, along with understanding and improving key processes and audits.

As a Product/Test Engineering Intern, you'll support the development and implementation of strategies that achieve profitability targets on assigned TI product lines through new product development, cost reduction, capacity expansion and yield enhancement projects.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Testing and troubleshooting issues
  • Developing production and characterization test specifications
  • Creating and managing product documentation

  • Designing interface and measurement circuits to make tester capabilities compatible with product definitions

You could work in one of the following roles based on degree:

You'll have direct involvement in the entire lifecycle of the products in your assigned product portfolio, including product definition, qualification, manufacturing, cost optimization, and quality. a Process Engineering Intern within the Analog Technology Development (ATD) Group. We work to define and develop the next generation process and device technologies for TI. The metal system is critical for achieving reliable, low resistance interconnects for power devices, for enabling area scaling and high process yields to drive cost leadership and to achieve high precision resistors and capacitor components. The interconnect process integration engineer is a key member of a team that defines and develops the processes and process flows to achieve the interconnect performance and reliability needs, whether it be low resistance with good electro-migration capability for the latest high current applications or high precision resistors for high performance amplifiers. The role includes activities such as:

  • defining electrical test circuits to assess process capability versus design rule,
  • characterizing and analyzing process yield data,
  • assessing the reliability of the metal and dielectric of the interconnect system,
  • and then working within the team to drive the necessary actions to meet the yield and reliability needs for the technology.
Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Currently pursuing Masters degree or PhD in areas such as Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or related engineering degree.
  • Cumulative 3.0/4.0 GPA or higher

Preferred qualifications:

  • Strong materials background in metal and/or dielectrics
