What You’ll Do

Architecture and Design:

  • This intern will support the team with the execution of the design development process from test fit, concept design, management of survey and due diligence with external consultants. They will also support coordination of all technical and business needs required from stakeholders and transform them into a concept drawing based on site-specific conditions. Additionally, interns on this team will support prototype team with prototype updates and block development as needed, as well as support review construction documents and shop drawings.

Structural Engineer:

  • As an intern on this team, you will support the design and construction of a variety of new and renovations to existing industrial, manufacturing, and office facilities in our high-tech facilities across the U.S. You will also work with multidiscipline project teams including Mechanical, Electrical, piping/Plumbing (MEP) Civil and Architectural professionals. You will conduct structural analysis and design of concrete and steel structures, along with the creation of justifying structural calculations. This intern will make technical assumptions, think independently to complete assigned work, and draw conclusions based on engineering judgement. Additionally, you will complete field work independently or with the design team and support preparation of design drawings, plans, sections, details, and schedules in Revit.

What You’ll Bring
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field

  • Previous internship and project experience is a plus but not required

  • Ability to work independently

  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally, in writing, and through drawings/sketches

  • For Architecture interns: Working knowledge of US building codes

  • For Architecture interns: Proficient in Revit, & familiar with AutoCAD. Additional software competencies are a plus

  • For Structural interns: Fundamentals of Engineer (FE) Test taken/passed

  • For Structural interns Experience with Revit, Revit Structural, RISA 3D, RAM or ETABs

  • For Structural interns: Primary structural coursework completed prior to start of internship

What You’ll Do
  • Produce detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, power routing plans (cable tray and conduit), lighting design and control panel layouts using CAD software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN)
  • Select appropriate electrical components such as relays, contactors, motor starters, power supplies, and PLC hardware based on specifications
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant electrical standards and codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA)
  • Create cable schedules, conduit layouts, and terminal strip drawings
  • Design control panels, incorporating PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), HMIs (Human-Machine Interfaces), VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives), and other automation components
  • Collaborate with engineers to create control system layouts and assist in the specification of control strategies
  • Draft and maintain P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams) and loop diagrams for control system documentation
  • Assist in the development of I/O lists for PLC/DCS systems
  • Work closely with project engineers and field personnel to understand project requirements and ensure that designs meet operational needs
  • Support procurement teams by providing accurate bills of materials (BOM) and equipment specifications for ordering
What You’ll Bring
  • Degree in Electrical Design or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical and control system design within an industrial setting (e.g., manufacturing, oil & gas, water treatment)
  • Proficient in electrical CAD software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, SolidWorks Electrical)
  • Familiarity with PLC and HMI components and basic knowledge of programming languages (Ladder Logic)
  • Understanding of industrial power distribution, motor control, and instrumentation
  • Knowledge of electrical standards (e.g., NFPA, NEC, IEC) and control system integration (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus)
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in design work
  • Full ownership of design tasks with ability to complete design work with minimal input from engineers
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate effectively with other departments
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills

  • Lead electrical design for the following electrical deliverables: Single line diagram, panel schedule, grounding drawing, underground conduit drawing, power plan, lighting layout, and area classification drawing
  • Responsible to prepare electrical deliverables with respect to code compliance and ensure every design maintains the highest level of quality
  • Simulate and analyze electrical engineering studies (short circuit study, load flow analysis, arc flash study)
  • Participate in field construction and commissioning activities by serving as the point of contact for technical questions and real-time issue resolution
  • Interface with external EPC firms during bid and project execution phases as needed to ensure that design and specifications meet our Engineering Standards
  • Support site operations as an electrical system owner - ensure infrastructure reliability and design/coordinate changes as needed
What You’ll Bring
  • 2+ years working experience in the electrical infrastructure design. Electrical construction experience is plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years work experience in heavy commercial and industrial sector (manufacturing, datacenter, hospital, campus, etc)
  • Experience with Revit
  • Strong desire to be a part of a world class team focused on achieving amazing results
  • Proficient to NEC/CEC requirement/exceptions
  • Registered as a CA Professional Engineer (PE) or willing to work to attain your PE
