Description: What You’ll Do - In collaboration with Engineers, design, build, operate, and maintain test fixtures, setups, and ad hoc equipment for R&D projects, including development and qualification testing on mechanical and electrical hardware with minimal supporting documentation
- Perform light fabrication and assembly tasks, including operation of manual machining tools, welders, common shop, power, and hand tools
- Maintain or create documentation during fault finding, maintenance, or upgrade activities
- Understand and follow safety and environmental regulations, as well as identifies safety and environmental concerns
- Improve test capability and efficiency by making continuous improvements to test methods, rigs, equipment and by communicating feedback to Engineers
- Conduct post-test teardowns to evaluate failure modes of concern
- Build high quality harnesses, cables, and enclosures per Engineering documentation
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized working environment throughout builds, effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines
What You’ll Bring - Experience working in a fast-paced R&D environment focused on transitioning conceptual designs to fully validated functional prototypes
- Willing to travel domestic and international when necessary
- Ability to lift 45 lbs. when needed
- Strong mechanical assembly knowledge (able to disassemble and reassemble prototype equipment with minimal documentation)
- Materials organization (kitting materials per project requirements)
- Excellent oral and written communication
- 3-5+ years demonstrated hands-on work experience in a related field/environment
- Experience utilizing Jira, SharePoint, and Confluence
- Work experience troubleshooting equipment with multiple levels of subsystems
- Practical knowledge of CAN and LIN protocols
