- Deliver to defined schedules
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in a 3D CAD software (CATIA is a plus)
- Basic knowledge of GD&T (proficiency is a plus)
- Experience with component design, analysis, and validation
- Great technical and interpersonal communication
- Evidence of being a self-starter and bringing projects to completion

- Owner of RFQ's - ensuring all commercial terms are agreed and documented. Ensures Non-Disclosure Agreements, General Terms & Conditions, Piece Price Agreements, and other related contracts are negotiated and appropriately before business is initiated
- Drive piece price and tooling negotiation process to ensure that Tesla’s commodity pricing met Best-In-Class expectations, while meeting Supplier Industrialization standards of Best-In-Class quality, in addition to driving continual cost reduction and avoidance initiatives through ad-hoc price negotiations
- Address all areas of category management including category business plans, market conditions, technology roadmaps, cost modeling, and sourcing strategies; Monitor global industry trends, track technology roadmaps, and actively partner with the Design teams to identify/mitigate supply and demand challenges
- Manage respective supplier relationships and performance, including but not limited to dispute resolution, supplier scorecards, and periodic business reviews; Participate in design reviews, change control meetings, and other technical discussions with Engineering partners; participate in Design for Manufacturability reviews with Engineering partners and prospective suppliers, and drive decisions from a cost perspective
- Ability to understand technical drawings and specifications as well as basic knowledge of manufacturing process controls and quality assurance for their commodity space, comfortable communicating with technical stakeholders both internally and externally
- Lead cross-functional teams to manage project timelines including developing and maintaining action trackers, Gantt charts, and other program management tools related to on-time delivery of supplier parts against Program timing
- Communicate key supply, cost, and/or quality issues with management teams; Develop corrective action plans to mitigate identified risks
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or evidence of experience and exceptional ability
- 1-5+ years of experience in supply chain management, or commodity management
- Technical & commercial understanding of tooling and manufacturing processes
- Experience with mechanical engineering concepts related to the commodity and ability to generate bottom-up should costs based on the understanding of manufacturing process
- Proficient knowledge of technical requirements & design of the product and be able to influence cross functional partners with detailed analysis that supports optimized pricing and product sourcing decisions
- Excellent negotiator; Experience with mechanical and/or electrical engineering concepts related to the commodity and ability to generate bottom-up should costs based on the understanding of manufacturing process

- Perform load calculations to determine sizing of actuators, transmissions, and bearing elements
- Integrate actuators, sensors, and electronics including wiring into a space-efficient package that is also conducive for assembly and serviceability
- Apply analytical methods including calculations and simulations for the design and optimization of structures and mechanical components
- Perform tolerance analysis to determine system impacts of assembly fits and backlash
- Fabricate prototypes, iterate rapidly, advance your concepts through to volume production
- Manage suppliers to execute projects according to the design specifications and timeline commitments
- Develop specifications and accelerated test plans to validate the product for its determined lifetime
- Design fixtures and equipment for testing and calibration in prototype and production environments
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or Mechatronics or equivalent industry experience

- Participate in prototype builds, component fabrication, testing and validation efforts
- Provide hands-on support and perform data analysis
- Develop designs in CAD for both detailed parts and assemblies
- Perform tolerance analysis, Finite Element Analysis (FEA), and other simulations and analyses before releasing designs for production
- Create 2D drawings appropriate for production and inspection methods
- Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews with suppliers and support tooling bring up
- Optimize components while considering performance, design, integration, size, mass, assembly and more
- Modeling and design of mechanical components and assemblies including plastic, sheet metal, die cast etc.
- Support development of engineering and reliability test plans, test data analysis, and troubleshooting of design issues
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Proficient in CAD, Catia experience preferred
- Knowledge of design of plastic injection molded, sheet metal stamping and cast parts
- Experience in drafting 2D drawings with GD&T

We are looking for highly motivated candidates interested in working at the crossroads of software development and compliance, leading regulatory compliance strategy for all of Tesla’s vehicle software. Vehicle Software Compliance is an evolving sector, and crucial to the business. As part of this team, you will be responsible for influencing early-stage regulations by helping regulators understand new technologies and working with the broader vehicle software engineering organization to drive organization wide strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
What You’ll Do - Liaison with global regulators, actively map the vehicle software regulatory space
- Own compliance initiatives end-to-end by working with cross function teams – Software Engineering, Policy, Compliance, Manufacturing, etc.
- Lead products through successful regulatory certifications
- Distill ambiguous regulatory requirements into actionable, scalable, product and process requirements for Tesla’s vehicle products
- Help various cross-functional teams understand how regulatory requirements apply to their vehicle systems
- Support development teams in developing component and system level product requirements to meet regulatory requirements
- Support validation teams in developing component and system level testing strategies to meet regulatory requirements
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or the equivalent in experience or evidence of exceptional ability
- Experience working with product teams to build and deliver end-to-end customer focused products
- Understanding of hardware and software development processes
- Demonstrated experience of leading products through regulatory certifications
- Experience in managing and executing large scale technical programs and high-quality product delivery
- Strong investigative and analytical problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
