What You’ll Do What You’ll Bring
- Tool & Die Apprentices will develop the necessary skills by shadowing mentors in the die build/tryout area
- Apprentices will perform the same tasks as mentors demonstrating progression in their abilities over a four-year period
- Tasks may include manual and CNC machining on mills and lathes, operating typical manual machines
- Learning to produce a wide variety of components and assemblies
- Performing equipment maintenance and repair and ensuring a safe working environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills
- Experience working with hand tools and welding
- Strong communication and writing abilities
- The drive to excel in an academic and training environment
- Capability of performing physical work which may require standing for extended periods of time and lifting objects of up to 25 pounds
- Must have strong command of the English language, both written and verbal. Ability to maintain a safe working environment

Description:
What You’ll Do What You’ll Bring
- Promote and ensure safe working practices, teamwork, a healthy and clean work environment, and enforcement of all Tesla policies
- Build and tryout all different forms of stamping tooling; troubleshoot problems and develop innovative solutions through team collaboration
- Work with engineering to achieve high quality parts (95% or better), and implement quality loops
- Work on multiple dies simultaneously, and run production when necessary; remain positive and engaged while working on multiple projects
- Communicate openly lineups between shifts
- Mentor, train and lead less experienced employees, including apprentices
- Any other duties that may be assigned by department manager
- Journeyman Tool and Die Certificate or equivalent experience
- Some experience with viewing 3D designs in Catia
- Able to lift at 25 lbs.
- Able to climb in and out of presses
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Clear and explicit verbal and written communication skills
