The Finance Operation Specialist will report directly to the Finops Supervisor and will assist in the day-to-day activities and various responsibilities pertaining to customer billing, cash application, investigation, reconciliation, and reporting within the organization. The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 years’ experience in a fast-paced environment. The ability to meet deadlines and flexibility in handling changing priorities are essential to be successful in this position. This role can be in our Draper, Fremont or Austin locations.

• Researching and processing incoming requests from internal and external customers
• Analyze and validate customer, product, and pricing data for completeness and accuracy
• Validate and confirm system production data against guaranteed output
• Investigate a resolve issues by reviewing historical transactions, contract data, reverse engineering, and coordination across multiple departments
• Accurate and timely responses to requests from internal customers including accounting, sales, customer care, legal, and senior management
• Create, upload, and modify journal entries into accounting system
• Generate payment requests from several internal departments

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of experience in Finance and/or Operations role preferred
• Previous experience with data validation and analysis preferred
• Advanced Excel and SQL skills preferred

This role will facilitate approval and code compliance at national, state, and local levels by developing and aligning product and regulatory requirements. The role involves fostering and sustaining collaboration with channel partners, direct stakeholders, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ) to ensure seamless and efficient permit and inspection processes, as well as conducting market surveillance to maintain ongoing product compliance.

The position is a highly collaborative and cross-functional role that supports both onsite and offsite outreach to undertake field evaluations, training, audits, and incident triage. You’ll develop whitepapers, processes, and outreach procedures to facilitate market access while identifying improvement opportunities.

The role requires a base understanding of requirements and development towards codes and standards comprehension, excellent communication skills, technical writing capabilities, and minimal oversight with strong leadership skills.

• Support and manage regulatory deployment to utility requirements for residential energy products, including national, state, and local deviations

• Proactively develop product and market regulatory literature to support new product introduction

• Support utility authorities having jurisdiction with onsite/offsite calibrations, certifications, and audit requirements

• Communicate code compliance, product listing applicability, and product functionality to internal and external teams to ensure systems can be installed and approved as intended

• Develop processes and tools that will aid the continuation of national, state, and local jurisdictional collaboration based on code compliance

• Proactively collaborate with engineering, product, deployment, and service teams to ensure residential energy product acceptance based on code compliance

• Develop and conduct training for internal and external stakeholders

• Identify and drive regulatory KPIs to continually improve interconnection roadblocks

• Create compliance strategies, key project metrics, and dashboards for project status communication to streamline interconnection and sustainment processes

• Engineering degree or at least 5 years of related work experience in a design/product deployment role

• Ability to read and communicate wiring schematics and product work instructions for renewable energy systems

• Strong understanding of the National Electric Code for renewable energy, particularly solar and energy storage related articles

• Familiarity of product standards (UL 2202, UL 2594, UL 2252, UL 2251, UL 9741, UL 2750, and UL 2231-x)

• Knowledge of national building/construction codes

• Understanding of renewable energy permit and inspection requirements

• Proficiency in project management with life cycles, agile methodologies, and project evaluations

• Establish and maintain precise payment data with thorough account reconciliation, complete with accurate aging reports for annual reporting
• Facilitate onboarding of new landlords and ensure accurate submission of payments in accordance with lease agreements
• Serve as the Supercharger business partner for supplier master team, accounts payable and accounts receivable projects
• Manage and administer centralized accounting and payments processes such as fixed assets, supplier onboarding, check management, and aging invoices
• Maintain accurate Utility account information within Tesla systems and manage new Utility account set up for our expanding network
• Compile and manage monthly and quarterly reports for team reviews and validations and drive efficiency improvements within our internal systems

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study, or equivalent experience

• Reconcile monthly vendor statements in accordance with SOX controls
• Perform manual receipt adjustments as needed to maintain liability account accuracy
• Monitor and resolve GRIR sub-ledger variances

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent related experience
• Experience with goods receipt vs. invoice receipt reconciliation
• Proficient in Microsoft Office with intermediate/advanced EXCEL knowledge
