JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
timely,relevantandaccurateP&Lreports of departmental financial results, down to the lowest expense level, by cost center and against historical budget/forecaston a monthly basis.
Participate in monthly and quarterly meetings with budget owners to explain the results and variances
Responsible for Headcount Tracking, Analysis & Variance explanations
Lead the P&Lforecasting/budgetingprocess from start to finish, responsibilities include but not limitedto:utilizing existingSCA budget system to build financial models for the fixed & variable costs, working with budget owners on additions and deletions to the baseline and finally uploading the final budget/forecast into SAP& BWusing GL codes, budget codes and internal orders when applicable.
Participate in MRP preparation and work with HQ on various quarterly reports
Participate in additionalprocess improvements, newimplementationsand system enhancements to drivecost savings and business optimization
Work with Accounting & Procurementdivisionson variances analysis, adjustment entries and keeping Accounting informed of new plans and the company’s projects
Assist with collecting and compiling information for Balance Sheet planning
Provide ad-hoc reporting and other dutiesas requested

Your qualifications and experience should include:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting
5 years experiencein FP&Arelatedfunction
Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Suiterequired(specifically Excel, PowerPoint)
Excellent communication,organizational and critical thinking skills
Superior attention to detail
ERP experience isrequired(SAPpreferred)
Ability to handle sensitive information
Proactive, self-startertaking initiative with tasks, and following through to completion
Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, and in both independent and collaborative environments

What you’ll be responsible for:
Record-to-Report:
Maintain accurate and complete General and Special Purpose Ledger accounting and integrity of financial statements.
Prepare, review and co-ordinate as needed monthly closing cycle with business input, in line with the central timetable.
Prepare and review as needed the calculation, review and approval of journal postings, accruals and provisions, deferred elements etc.in line with Sony policy.
Co-ordinate responses to queries related to financial accounting and standard reporting.
Prepare and Review Balance Sheet reconciliations and ensure all balances are reconciled and validated.
Ensure month end close processes are delivered to support financial reporting and facilitate clear variance reporting against forecast and budget, and prior periods.
Controllership
Review and approval of journal (accruals & provisions etc.) postings within own area of responsibility prepared by Off-shore and other parts of the Finance community.
Support and coordinate additional transition of activities to BPO and preparation of handover and related work instructions (DPMs).
Business Partnering
Partnering with the wider Sony business stakeholders. Building relationships, understanding their processes and priorities, and seeing the big picture of what is important and how Group Reporting can add value to our partners is critical to success within this role.
Continuous Improvement & Governance
Identify and support implementation process improvements and Automation (RPA) that maximise efficiency and improve service to the front-line business.
Support document retention in line with Sony policy and legal requirements.
Support reporting to Europe & Tokyo senior management is carried out in timely manner, addressing key areas such as commercial investment, bad debt etc. managing technical accounting compliance on operational basis within SEU
You will bring:
Recent experience of working within a Financial Accounting/Analysis position
Technical accounting & analysis knowledge
Capability to build dashboards & work with large datasets
Strong commercial/business partnering skills
An ability to continually innovate & improve on existing processes
