Job Summary: Internal Controls Director, PayPal UK, First Line of Defence (FLOD)

You will lead the design, execution, and continuous improvement of thewithin the UK First Line of Defence, ensuring compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and policy requirements. This includes oversight of operational and financial controls, governance processes, risk management, and assurance activities to safeguard PPUK’s control environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and continuously enhance the UK Internal Controls Framework across all business processes, ensuring alignment with PayPal’s global standards and UK regulatory expectations;
  • Act as the Entity Control Lead (ECL) for PPUK, accountable for the design and effectiveness of internal control processes and reporting.

  • Lead product strategy development and share the technical and product roadmap for omni-channel merchants across onboarding, servicing & reporting experiences, Point-of-Sale software and mobile Apps, Tap-to-Pay SDKs, Reader SDKs and cloud APIs.
  • Interface with senior leadership and key partners to drive vision, strategy and execution forward.
  • Drive Partnerships in the omni-channel space across software platforms such as Ecommerce and vertical SaaS; hardware OEM partners, Ecosystem partners like Google and Apple, distribution & logistics partners and partners that drive commerce ecosystem.
  • Lead, develop and mentor a global team of product managers focused on building world-class in-store and in-person payments.
  • Champion merchant and partner platform success balancing innovative merchant experiences, partner platform capabilities, regulatory requirements, time-to-market, and profitability collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with Point-of-Sale, In-store products, hardware, and partnerships, ISOs, Commerce Platforms highly preferred.
