In this role you will report to the LatAm Corporate Accounting Manager, based in Mexico City, Mexico.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ONApply APLA Controlling guidance regarding corporate accounting related policies
Capture and deliver measurable value through business partnership, including performing technical research on accounting issues and consulting with business partners on key topics
Support on designing and implementing effective controls to manage financial reporting risk across the LatAm corporate accounting processes
Provide timely accounting positions, financial insights and operational considerations to enable informed decision making
Monitor standardized, scalable and controlled accounting processes and transactions aligned with global policies
Perform the monthly and quarterly financial statement close process according to US GAAP
Drive operational excellence through the identification and operationalization of simplification, standardization, and automation opportunities
Manage local statutory filings and audits, and collaborate with internal and external auditors and tax advisors on tax related work.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
Reporting during 6 months to the LatAm Corporate Accounting Manager, this role is a critical finance partner for the NIKE LatAm territories (Mexico as owned and operated, and Central & South America as distributor model) and APLA Corporate Accounting. You will have interactions with various LatAm stakeholders, working closely with the LatAm Financial Planning and Record to Report Shared Delivery teams.
WHAT YOU BRINGA minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting, finance or related functions & Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or the equivalent, is preferred
Knowledge and application of US GAAP around inventory accounting is required
Experience with ERP accounting and finance systems such as SAP or Oracle is required
Experience with a Fortune 500/multinational consumer products company is preferred
Fluent in both English and Spanish is preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills & a proven ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience, including meeting facilitation and presentations with senior leadership teams
High standards for quality and advanced ability to handle multiple, competing priorities and requests
Experience working with a managed service provider is a plus
Ability to pass a 7-year background check

We’re looking for an Assortment Planning Manager to join our team. In this role, you will work within the country team and account partners commercial and assortment planning teams to establish clear retail sales plans that tells a story for the season and drive assortment planning decisions. Ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of retail metrics, buying, forecasting, account management, and how they are used across functions to deliver profitable and sustainable growth for Nike. WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
As an Assortment Planning Manager, you will work within the country team, account teams and multiple key stakeholders to drive optimal style and classification plans. In this role, you will work closely with Merchandise Financial Planner (MFP) and Merchandising to determine style depth, breath, assortment flow, shipments to achieve financial and retail sales plans. You will lead pre-season and in-season merchandise assortment planning, as well as share consumer-led insights to shape future product strategies.
Pre – Season:
Work with partners buying and planning teams to refine product assortment plans based on retail strategies and opportunities; ensure plan reconciles with topline financial plan developed by the MFP.
Partner with merchandising managers to align and make recommendations to Merchandising assortment regarding seasonal product flow strategies and key opportunities and risks to hit the MFP plans.
Work with merchandisers to forecast and manage allocations for High-Heat/Launch Products, inclusive of partnering with operations on order management.
In – Season:
Provide recommendations to account partners from the ongoing in-season recaps and analysis they presented, in some cases monitor performance of key items and seasonal stories, taking actions to maximize revenue, margin, and inventory productivity.
Make recommendations to manage health of inventory and capitalize on key consumer moments.
Share insights with cross-functional partners, ensuring the voice of consumer is well accounted for in future plans and strategies.

What You Bring

You bring hands-on experience in communications, including corporate communications, consumer and product messaging, and assisting with strategy, planning and budgeting.
You are comfortable developing creative communication materials and supporting the execution of communication strategies under the guidance of senior team members.
Your experience includes writing and editing for print, multi-media formats and digital social formats in both English and Spanish
Experience leading media relationships end-to-end
Experience working in Latin America in similar roles is preferred
Consistent record in presenting plans across sophisticated matrix on a corporate, regional and functional basis, including presenting before audiences of various sizes and cultures
