Senior Director of Data Analytics EngineeringThis is a remote position located in the United States. We will only consider candidates currently in the US and are not offering relocation assistance at this time. Travel may be required periodically for key meetings.

About the role:
  • Establish and lead a broad, cross-functional team driving data ingestion, curation, and data governance.
  • Provide strategic guidance, thought leadership, and oversight to the data governance and curation functions within McAfee.
  • Oversee McAfee’s Data Governance Council, facilitating key design and alignment discussions and decisions with technical and business data stewards.
  • Liaise directly with Engineering, Platform, and Business leadership to ensure data meets business needs.
  • Sign off on resource allocation and delivery for the business requests, and escalate funding needs.
  • Manage the data and analytics project queue in partnership with program management.
  • Monitor and ensure backlog is aligned to business demand and executive roadmap.
  • Liaise with leaders from individual data domains to understand business priorities and ensure adequate resource alignment.

About you:

  • Bring 12+ years of experience as a data and analytics leader, with extensive background in modern data governance structures (e.g., data lakehouse modeling, data pipelines, and data mesh).
  • Have 12+ years of experience managing complex data environments, including those employing Databricks.
  • Have significant understanding and background of cloud data structures, including 5+ years of cloud data management and modeling.
  • Form relationships at all organizational levels, confidently liaising with and influencing executives and individual contributors.
  • Act as an excellent team leader and are energized by growing, motivating, and leading global teams of 20+ technical managers, data stewards, and data engineers.
  • Work well in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in data stewardship, data governance, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of data processes and data flows, SDLC, CI/CD; including cutting-edge data management strategies such as Data Mesh.
  • Familiarity with various analytics technologies and tools, from data integration such as Kafka, Fivetran, Informatica, or Boomi to reporting such as PowerBI or Tableau.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of data protection regulations and compliance.
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.

About You:

  • 7+ years of experience in product design, with a focus on design systems or UI/UX design.

  • Strong expertise in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD, with a focus on component libraries and prototyping.

  • Solid understanding of front-end development principles, including HTML, CSS, and responsive design.

  • Excellent visual and interaction design skills, with a keen eye for detail and consistency.
