Description:

Responsible for providing high level applications support of KLA products, including:

  • Customer support for projects, tool recipe setup, and recipe optimization.
  • Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
  • Communicate to customers to understand application requirements for current apps work and future tool/feature developments. Customer training required as needed.
  • Collaborates closely with different groups including service dept., product manager, sales, division, management, and customers for projects and activities.
  • Provide escalation support to field team; leading and coordinating remote/local troubleshooting
  • While this is a customer facing role, division engagement may be needed, such as demos or other product development.
  • Assists sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs.
  • Responsible for generating best known method (BKM) documents
  • Use PowerPoint, Excel and Word for data analysis, knowledge documentation and presentation preparation.
  • Must have excellent written and communication skills, including delivering technical presentations with clarity
  • Domestic and worldwide travel (may be 50%) is required

Doctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years

Job Responsibilities

  • The candidate is required to develop an in-depth expertise in product operation, applications, and customer processes.
  • Collaborate with critical customers to ensure KLA products are adopted and applied to their unique problems.
  • Support for pre-sale activities that include product demos, product presentations, development of technical papers, and support at trade shows.
  • Support for post-sale activities that include customer training, customer support, understanding customer processes, and development of new use cases.
  • Support for internal customers such as service, engineering, and operations.

Qualifications

  • Master's Level Degree OR Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 2 years of experience.
  • Degree in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Material Science or related field.
  • A background in IC processing OR Semiconductor equipment is desirable, but not mandatory.
  • Ability to perform complex data/image analysis using data-analysis tools.
  • Teamwork is critical so having a good balance between technical skills and people skills is a must.
  • Must have excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Candidate will be required to frequently present results to internal as well as external customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Level Degree in engineering or business administration with 5 or more years of experience managing customer support functions for a capital equipment supplier within the semiconductor manufacturing industry

  • Prefer experience leading a large international team, managing P&L, and collaborating with senior management on strategic business development efforts

  • Experience building relationships and collaborating with senior managers (GM level and above) on projects that involve team members from across multiple organizations

  • Leadership ability which attracts talent, creates loyalty, trust, and following. One who can energize people and teams and make cross-functional and cross-business cooperation happen. This individual must be respected by subordinates, peers, and superiors.

  • An effective communication style that is direct, structured, and succinct. One who can articulate complex concepts in a clear and simple manner and adjust communication based on the technical expertise of the audience.

  • Must have experience effectively presenting to a seasoned audience including our clients’ senior leadership team, as well as Company management.

  • Appropriate skill level with MS Office applications, such as PowerPoint, Excel, Word

Semiconductor Industry experience highly preferred. In this position you will be a Hands-on Customer Service Engineer assigned to our client. A strong knowledge and understanding of Optical Systems, Electrical Circuitry, Electromechanical, and Pneumatic Systems is required. This is not an Information Technology or Software position.

  • Primarily responsible for maintenance, troubleshooting, and diagnosing with quality on-site repairs of KLA’s complex capital equipment at customer sites.
  • Drive system level corrective actions and repairs based on technical knowledge, education, and training to isolate issues, minimizing equipment downtime, interruptions, and malfunctions.
  • Successfully complete ongoing technical training on KLA products, acquiring detailed knowledge of semiconductor capital equipment, application of diagnostic techniques, and practical field troubleshooting.
  • Prepare field service reports on customer support activities and provide documentation to other supporting functions on re-occurring issues.
  • Assist and prepare quotes for customer equipment repairs based on parts needed, reason for equipment failure, time, and costs associated with repairs.
  • Represent KLA as a subject matter expert to the customer including accountability for customer satisfaction.
  • Assure operational quality of system equipment and coordinate activities with customer to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Aid Installation and Upgrade Engineers in resolving problems regarding equipment startup and relocation.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, cross training, and technical assistance to junior engineers.
  • Contribute to capturing, re-use, collaboration, and improvement of knowledge using available systems.
