What You Can Expect

As an intern in the 2026 China Seasonal Internship Program – Asset Management – Research Analyst, you will work as an analyst from one asset class as listed below:

Equity research: analyze stocks to help portfolio managers make better-informed investment decisions. Equity researchers employ problem-solving skills, data interpretation, and various other tools to understand and predict a given security's behavioral outlook.

  • Fixed Income research: Develop investment recommendations through the study of market fundamentals and technical research and maintain constant dialogue with our PMs discussing market color and research results.
  • AMS Research: Conduct research on investment strategies and asset allocation process through fundamental and quantitative frameworks. Analyze major asset classes, and underlying investment strategies and vehicles to help inform investment decisions.
  • Quantitative research: Work with large data sets to predict and test statistical market patterns and conceptualize valuation strategies, develop and continuously improve mathematical models. Our program kicks off with training and orientation to our businesses and you’ll gain the technical and practical knowledge so you can make an impact from the start.

  • Undertake qualitative and quantitative analysis of industries and companies in support of the research activities of senior analysts.
  • Forecast income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow items for near-term and normalized periods to facilitate valuation analysis.
  • Work closely with Analysts, Portfolio Managers and the Directors of Research to translate research insights into investment decisions.
  • Assist the Directors of Research with recurring and ad-hoc market and portfolio analysis, management of analyst-driven portfolios and in communication with stakeholders.
  • Communicate and collaborate proactively with the global network of JPMAM Analysts and Portfolio Managers.
